Federal government shutdown

You know we're in trouble when we can't even come anywhere in the same universe of spending what we take in. Don't try to sugar-coat it.

We're in 1973!? Now we can warn the people of Japan that in 38 years, there's going to be a hell of an earthquake.

You're right -- so you advocate cutting DoD and medicaid/medicare, since those are the only real things we can cut that will make a difference, right? Go tell your GOP to put that in their bill.

We'll just see what happens. I expect we'll be waiting a loooong time.

EVERYTHING needs to be cut 30% right now. No favorites. No layoffs just less pay/accounts recievable. Everyone must accept it and belive it or not we will live, reset, get competative and thrive down the road. Why go over a cliff? Its not necessary.

I'm very glad that you don't have any decision-making power. It must be nice to be able to think so simplistically.

You first. Donate 30% of your income to charity.

I donate 50% to government. At least 1/3 of that is for items I don't like. Give me it back and I would give it to my church immediately.
