Most middle management corporate jobs are under 200k, really under 150k, even in the DC region. Posts here are not reflective of reality or majority.

You're going to be disappointed. AI is going to make a bunch of roles even more valuable. Others less so. And will create new ones. AI does not replace human interfaces or decision making, it can advise on those but not replace it. The highly paid jobs are all about human interfaces and decision making.

Agree with that is shockingly high for that title/experience in that sector, for base salary the own a boost from a stock price pop.

This may be high for program managers but this is standard for technical program managers. There is a big difference between program managers and technical program managers, especially if the technical program managers has the same qualifications as a software engineering manager.

You are right about decision making, but you are wrong about human interfaces. Human interfaces will be reduced to a minimum.
Decision making will be made by humans, but you don't need thousand people to make decisions. The result will less jobs.

You’re underpaid - that’s manager level comp for non tech roles at our tech company that’s also one level below FAANG. You should be at $600K TC minimum at Director level, unless your company inflates titles.

Very similar except for the expensive coastal location. I don’t think I’m underpaid.

The cost of living factor might be the big difference here. I'd be happier with my $465k if I lived somewhere cheaper. I mean, it is still good, but it would be super great in some mid sized medium cost of living place. My quality of life is not great either. I grind pretty hard in an expensive place.

I too would like to keep my East Coast major city level of compensation but have small town rust belt cost of living. C'mon man.
