The government is trying to clamp down on these videos due to racial tensions.

The murderer falsely claimed racism and his family covered up the crime. It was an ugly and horrific incident in which the outrage is justified but also being fanned by anti-immigrationists.

Ironically the Sikh murderer was born in the UK and the Polish victim was an immigrant.

..which clearly shows that the outrage is about a brown person attacking a white person.

More than that, in the UK, there's been various coverups by the police of sexual assualts by minority communites and censorship by the government related to it. Remember last summers protests?
You may also remember the Reform Uk party winning a ton of local elections just last month (largest by percentage now) and how this was of concern for Prime Ministers Keir Starmer's party for the next parlementary election season.

https://www.itv.com/news/2026-05-08/2026-election-results

The far right have been sweeping the world, and it's not about " coverups by the police of sexual assualts by minority communites". Japan's far right party has grown in popularity. They don't have an issue with "police coverups of crimes committed by minorities". Heck, we don't have that problem either, really. Look at the incarceration rate of minorities.

This is mostly about economics or pure racism.

Native born people are upset because they think immigrants are taking resources from them. That's why Brexit passed.

The Japanese are highly xenophobic. Heck, they don't even want Koreans or Chinese who have lived there for generations to get citizenship. Some of these people were kidnapped by the Japanese for forced labor during the colonial period.

Minorities have been scapegoated and othered throughout history. The past 30 years we saw the pendulum swing one way where countries allowed in more immigrants, mostly due to economic reasons. But, now that the global economy sucks (mainly due to the rise in corporate power), and natives need to find a scapegoat.

This is why populism has become so popular globally.

The outrage is mostly about the police handcuffing, mocking, and arresting the dying victim because they reflexively believed his attackers.

There's also a secondary issue of Sikhs being given an exemption to the general prohibition on carrying knives. The murder weapon was an 8" supposedly ceremonial knife.

That people like you minimize what happened and try to de-legitimize the complaints only feeds into and amplifies the far right's agitation.

No, the ultra right's outrage is about nonwhites attacking whites. That's why the ultra right are anti-immigrant.

Seems like another incident of far-right anti-immigration tactics stoked by Musk/X and bots.

POV: A Sudanese man is appropriately charged and detained after stabbing another man. No other details are given. Out come the anti-immigrants because how dare an immigrant harm one of us...only WE WHITE MEN are allowed to do the harming.

Ah, so only liberals are allowed to riot. Good to know.

No, generally people who riot are protesting an outcome that is not just or satisfactory.

Protest. Liberals protest. The riots in the US were almost all instigated by far right terrorism and neo Nazi groups. Progressives tend to use what used to be considered non violent protest means like sit ins, marches etc. the problem is that it's inconvenient and in your face so it seems personal and aggressive whereas the far right use mostly social media, red pilling, social engineering and small groups. They infiltrate and use covert tactics to destabilize and integrate into youth. There's multiple far right terrorist groups recognized well by previous administrations not the Trump administration but we all know how duplicitous they are. All liberals are progressives have is antifa and it's not even a coordinated group of people it's an idea and I guess that's the scariest part about it.

The UK economy is flatlining. This is a culmination of a sequence of events - the global financial crisis, Brexit (especially!!!), Covid and now Iran. However, there were substantial structural problems which were evident back in the 2000s. This is particularly evident when comparing the wealthier south east with other areas, especially the traditional manufacturing towns.

Anti-immigrant sentiment surged with the accession of Eastern European countries to the EU. There was a large influx of white Eastern European migrants, especially Poles, which was particularly noticeable. Germany opened its doors to Syrian refugees and, given the open borders of the EU, led to fears of a further migrant flux into the UK. Brexit led to an exodus of Europeans and the previous conservative government allowed entry for up to 2 million non-white migrants from outside the EU. I don’t know why the numbers were so high.

Government services are struggling. Youth unemployment has hit 15%. When the economy is sh*t, people are unhappy and look for someone to blame.

Not seeing the contradiction here.

Savages being led around by the nose by foreign double-immigrant child of immigrants, billionaire, Elon Musk

Every couple of months in Northern Ireland a woman is killed in her own home by a man she knows, but for some reason that's not interesting to Elon Musk and these Reform dudes.

"Campaigners state that these statistics make Northern Ireland the most dangerous place to be a woman in the UK, with women in NI being twice as likely to be killed by a partner or someone they know than if they lived in Scotland, Wales or England"

Well, the Sudanese asylum seeker nearly beheaded the victim and gouged out his eyes. Not exactly the same as barroom brawl.

And?????
Does that mean, therefore, that ALL Sudanese men and by extension ALL immigrants are going to commit such gruesome crimes?????

I hate to break into the usual racially-charged picking of sides, but there are very real problems with housing being caused by the influx of immigrants.

I sincerely hope that people can look at history and figure out how to better handle migration crises in the future. Calling people racists and mud-slinging isn’t it. Hope this helps! Now, be sure to get back to your robotic responses and aforementioned mud-slinging. Quick! Pick a side!

This is what presumably prompted the outrage: locals are fed up with the back door immigration that allows people to enter and easily seek asylum through a seemingly unguarded, porous border (at least that’s what two articles I read earlier today pointed to).

Everyone has a tipping point when it comes to immigration (ahem…look at the US). And incidents of violent crime often prompt attention, and sometimes prompt a strong reaction.

I think the pp who racialized this really missed the point. Aggressively protesting (like this) is directly attributable to pent up frustration. I mean, look at the post-George Floyd riots/protests.

If you don’t want such an unnecessary, dangerous reaction then the government needs to do a better job of taking the temperature of voters and anticipating where the tipping point is.

Its porous because of the situation with the UK. Something they have no problem with if you are a white person. And again the rates of violence by immigrants is less than the native born population. We are talking about Northern Ireland here!

I am going to ignore your comparison to George Floyd riots.

How many beheadings has the native population attempted in the last couple years?

NP. Don't be an ahole. The fact it was a near beheading is not relevant. That goes to the gruesomeness of the crime, but all violent crimes and murders are violent crimes and murders. You don't get to distinguish this one to make the others seem less serious.

When people say or do, or imply, racist things, it is entirely appropriate to call them what they are.

Is the issue really about an attempted beheading, or that a refugee black man attacked a white man?

FYI The majority of mass shootings and serial killers in the US are committed by native born white males.

How about in Ireland?

Ireland has gun laws. The only country with psychotic gun nuts, unwilling to bend even when first-graders are gunned down in the arms of their teachers, are Americans. Particularly, Republican Americans.
