This really makes me laugh! And now I have that terrible song “convoy“ in my head. Breaker 1-9, good buddy! What’s your handle?

A neighbor "girl" was born in 2000--and a legit adult. She has no frame of reference for why 9/11 is a big deal.

Or how nice the country was before 9/11.

I was grocery shopping and heard Red Hot Chili Peppers on the sound system.

There's a current car commercial that uses a Judas Priest song.

I almost put my foot through the screen when I heard The Hellion playing over a minivan commercial.

Sometimes DCUM makes me feel old. I suspect there are many here who, like me, came to DCUM in the school years, stayed for the college forum, and now occasionally dip into the Elder Care and Family fora. But also, I'm no longer invested in my kids' private vs. public schools, or their colleges, our kids would need to be real losers if their moms are helping them get into grad school, and the remaining candidate forums like "Religion" are infested with atheist trolls while the family forum is infested with people who hate their parents/children, so why bother. Which is why--being old--I now come here maybe once a month and end up on fora like this one.

I notice that videos from my childhood (late 70’s/early 80’s) look a little blurry now and everyone in them looks just weird.

Like guys in short shorts ➕ knee socks.
Lol.

I’m with you there. The travel forum has gotten kind of boring, boomers are reviled, it’s no longer as fun. I’m on maybe once a week now.

Nicole Richie has an 18 or 19 year old now. Time flies!

Same here. The friend's baby I saw in the hospital is now married. Time flies!

I remember our land line was Bell Atlantic. I am old.

When I went back to MIT and realized they had removed all of our computer labs. Then also realizing they dismantled Athena a decade ago which was the inspiration for cloud computing. Also realizing things like websites from 2002 look ancient. Even though I'm fully in tech today, thinking back makes me realize that was a long time ago. The world today isn't at all the same.

Watching Better Call Saul and the character played by Carol Burnett was using the search engine Ask Jeeves

My daughters are now old enough that if they became pregnant, it would be a geriatric pregnancy.

I went to the Bret Michaels concert the other day. As I was looking around, everyone there was old (me included). To me, Bret Michaels is still the lead in Poison and girls are throwing their bras at him. There were no middle aged bras being thrown.
