Current club ghosting us. What do I do next?

Do not take a wishy washy 6th team offer. And be realistic, if your kid got moved down three whole teams is he doing the right sport/should he play goalie?

He'll find somewhere else to play as a GK no problem.

Given how long it took to get them the offer, it sounds like they were waiting on a bunch of New Credit Cards to decide whether they were transferring over, and then trying to slot in some of their existing players on the lowest teams they thought they could convince the families to pay for (hence the whole song and dance to OP about chances with the 5th team)

If they hire irresponsible drunk no-shows for their third teams, I can only imagine the caliber of coaches they hire for their 6th teams.

I cannot believe they are moving him down three teams at that age. They think you are suckers who will pay for any team but they are trying to bring in new paying customers from outside who won't settle for 6th teams.

If they are letting him in goal the whole game at his age, they are really failing to develop him as a player.

I would leave that club. Actually, I would give them vague assurances but not actually tell them we were leaving for as long as possible.

Absolutely this, and don't reply to their messages. Tell them you are thinking it over. Screw them over with having a goalie for that team next year.

I'm 5'6" and DH is 6'2". Doctors did that estimate thing when he was a kid and predicted 6'1" or more

I'm insulted on your behalf with how they are treating your kid. This club is run by morons, you need to nope right on out.

They had a kid from outside accept a 5th team offer who is willing to play GK. So they bumped your kid down thinking you were suckers.

He should NOT be in goal full time at that age. Its hurting his development. They basically just used him for the year, not developing him at all, and tossed him aside like used Kleenex.

Nope. Current team has 9 kids on the roster.

1 - not returning
3 - staying on U10
2 - moved up to 2nd team
2 - stayed on current team
1 - moved down (my kid)

That's wild. I've never seen a club have so many goalies at U9/U10 that they would move one down from team 3 to 6.

OP, does the club know he wants to play goalie? The communication from the new coach doesn’t sound like it. Have you talked to them about keeper training from the club?

Yep, he's done keeper training with them once a week for the past 2 years. They also know he's doing 1 on 1 training with a professional goalie

Exactly this. The #1 job of these clubs is to foster a love for the game and they are out here treating 10 year olds like s#!t. This is why small clubs get spun up and typically provide a better environment for growth and development.
