How many of you are embracing grey hair?

I've been letting the heat come in, it's too expensive to get it done at the salon now and I am debating doing box color or just leaving it gray

I’m now trying a Demi-permanent color shampoo I got from Amazon to deposit color that may not cover all grays but what’s remaining may show as highlights. I’m not sure how this will work since I’ve only tried it once so far. I’m considering highlights where the grays are, but that still leaves the issue of how the grays will look growing in. I still work at 54 in a youngish field so going completely natural isn’t an option.

Can you tell me the name of the product you use?

"Wish I had the guts" is the compliment I like best ~ I went all grey several years ago.

I start getting white hair in my late 20s, but only one streak at the front. I never dyed it because I like it and it is a family trait--my dad and grandma had the same streak. I'm in my 40s now and the streak has gotten wider, but my white hair is still mostly concentrated around my face. I will never dye it because it is just part of my look. I actually got a lot of compliments on it when I was younger but fewer now, probably because my face matches the hair better now since I'm older! I don't really care if it makes me look old.

Me, since mid 40's. I have salt and pepper hair. I spend money on good hair products and changed my makeup to work with the greys. I love it. I especially love not having to dye it. I get compliments on it. Could I look younger if I dyed it? Sure, but I don't want to. I am okay with looking my age.

+1 My colleagues in their 70s who look youthful all color their hair.

Age discrimination is real, especially for women. I and 55 and would like to work another 5-7 years. I’m worried about what would happen if I had to look for a new job.

Yeah, PP here. For me looking (and acting youthful) helps professionally.

I always wonder what field people who say this are in?

So many fields are ageist, could be any of a number.

I’m one of the many Washington lawyers. Aging is an asset.

I am sure I will at some point but I would never right now. 50.

No. I have always dyed my own hair so it's a very small part of my life in terms of time or cost. I would look terrible with white hair.

I’m 42 and noticed about 5 gray hairs last month. I’m hoping they’ll form a fashionable streak in the front! My hair is brown but I’ve always had a natural blond streak in the front, so for now I’ll leave the grays be and see what happens.

Since I am not rich, at this point I’d rather throw money at 2x year Botox than regular hair dye.

I know people who can pull it off, but I can't. You are lucky if you can it make it work or have hardly any gray.

This is me too. Adding to the old and tired, my eyebrows are still dark which adds an element of weirdness.

I am fifty-seven and not yet!

I am Asian w/very oily skin (no wrinkles YET!) so I think I can pull off black hair for another 5 yrs.!

46 with dark brown hair. I have sporadic grays that pop up randomly (vs. at the part line). For I now I just tweeze. But I have fine, thinning hair and think coloring will be harsh on it. Some day I will need to but for now not. I plan on coloring for awhile once I need to.

Early 30s and I’ve got a bunch of grays at my temples and hairline, as do most of my similarly aged female coworkers. None of us color. It does seem like more and more women in their 30s / 40s are going natural.
