That is eating what I have in the house.

I slice cucumbers really thin and mix them with sour cream, a little vinegar, a dash of celery salt, some lemon juice and put that over a piece of baked salmon. It’s my go to meal when I’m home alone.

I love hominy with butter, salt and pepper. No one else in my family likes it, but it’s what I grew up on (Oklahoma — it’s a Native American thing). When I was in college on the east coast, I found hominy in the “international foods” section of the grocery store. LOL

Is that just another word for polenta or grits?

It's full kernels of corn but soaked in stuff that makes them plump and tender. Hominy's the main ingredient in posole and some other stews. (NP, fellow Oklahoman hominy-eater here.)

Hear me out:

Baked sweet potato, stuffed with kimchi and shredded cheddar, insides heated to melty.

Sweet, spicy, gooey, warm. It’s literally perfect.

Genoa salami fried in red wine vinegar served as a sandwich

"Hominy is dried corn kernels that have been treated with an alkali (like lime or lye) in a process called nixtamalization, which removes the hull and germ, causing the kernels to puff up and become more nutritious. It's a staple in Mexican and Southern U.S. cuisine, used whole in soups like pozole and menudo, or ground into grits or masa for tortillas and tamales. Hominy is available canned, dried, or frozen, and is known for its chewy texture and enhanced niacin content. "

Very common in Mexico and SW states. It's a mild, softer non-sweet corn flavor, so I don't think it's that weird.

Nope. Seems like a weird question but no.

Is the luncheon for toddlers? Otherwise it's a bit odd to serve butter pasta and nothing else.

A joke…

I also take a slice of provolone and stuff it with some turkey. I roll it up and eat like a taco. Again, the family thinks I'm weird.

I'm pretty sure the second one is sold at Trader Joe's.

Lol. Exactly. That one isn’t that odd. Everyone I know has done that.

I would totally eat that too PP- if it's what's around. I'd put the romaine with some balsamic vinaigrette.
The sourdough with butter sounds good.
Also what is a nut butter? I do have peanut butter in the house (crunchy and creamy) but I don't really like those much and would stick to butter on the bread.

Some of us are just kind of meh about food. Not disordered. People here are so weird.
