Agree. I saw them as I was driving by and tears came to my eyes. My dd participated and guesses 75% of students did based on what teachers said. I watched the videos and this was not kids cutting class.

Thank you so much for sharing this IG link. Got me teary-eyed as well. I’m so proud of these kids for standing up for what’s right.

Kids holding posters F*uck Ice? Are you proud of such language?

They are speaking to the POTUS in the only type of language he understands. Savvy.

Then you are not different from Maga, just on the other side of the spectrum.
I really hope we have a leader that will unite rather than polarize the population. All the left and right extremists can continue fighting each other and leave us normal people alone. Im so sorry for the kids that are brainwashed on both sides. So sad that this country is falling apart

Explain to me what behavior demonstrated by these students would qualify as being brainwashed? Do we need to brainwash a teenager into feeling that denying citizens and non-citizens their due process rights is unconstitutional? Do we need to brainwash them into understanding that a badge doesn’t give someone the right to execute a person without a trial? These seem like common sense arguments and strong American values to me. But what do I know? I am just a Marine who spent 8 years fighting for and defending this US Constitution.

School is for education not for activism. My workplace won't allow political discussion. How is school different from workplace? They are supposed to get fundamental knowledge. Politics belong to elsewhere.

Kids had 5 days off due to snow + 2 days with 2 hours delay and then they decide to walk out? How is that smart?

Precisely why they walked out what does anyone do with on a two hour delay? Cue the "but but AP instruction and AP tests" poster

Education that begins each and every day with the Pledge of Allegiance. Kids navigating, discussing, and advocating for what they think that pledge ultimately entails is fully consistent with and fundamental to that education.

Students have been encouraged to exercise their First Amendment rights going back nearly 70 years prior to the Civil Rights movement. Learning the fundamentals of our American government is a vital part of their education and one can argue that it's a vital lesson for them to learn prior to adulthood.

Until the Government says the Hatch Act applies to students, I will always support these kinds of demonstrations.

I am no longer surprised that American education is spiraling downward. Gender studies, Bible studies, activism, all this nonsense whereas kids do not know the basics of math and science. Look at the rate of students proficient in reading compared to 10 years ago. Sure, let's continue brainwashing the next generation.

Again, what part of basic human decency is "brainwashing"? What part of understanding the way our country was founded and operates is "brainwashing"? Math skills are important but no amount of calculus will protect you when your fundamental rights are being infringed. Can't math your way out of illegal loss of due process rights.

With 30-40% reading proficiency? Good luck teaching kids what patriotism is. Its not being a far left democrat or far right republican. Its a complex issue. Not fox news/CNN slogans.

How USA was founded? Do you think AI generation will even know this? It requires a lot of reading.

I was able to be taught the fundamentals of American Government and the founding principles this nation and our Constitution was written before the advent of AI. These kids are more than capable of it as well. Best way to teach these incredibly important lessons is through real world application and physical demonstration. Most students are incredibly tactile learners and will learn more through that than from any amount of reading.

It would be brainwashing if the school, which is an extension of the government, was forcing these students to protest. But they are not. The students are organizing and demonstrating themselves, which again, they have the 1st Amendment Right to do.

How are you this clueless about the Bill of Rights?

School is for education not for activism. My workplace won't allow political discussion. How is school different from workplace? They are supposed to get fundamental knowledge. Politics belong to elsewhere.

Kids had 5 days off due to snow + 2 days with 2 hours delay and then they decide to walk out? How is that smart?

It would be brainwashing if the school, which is an extension of the government, was forcing these students to protest. But they are not. The students are organizing and demonstrating themselves, which again, they have the 1st Amendment Right to do.

How are you this clueless about the Bill of Rights?

1. The poster does not understand the constitution
2. The poster is just repeating MAGA talking points

Don't waste your time.

I am neither maga nor the other side. I am equally opposed to Bible studies or whatever they teach in southern states or if they walk out to support patriarchy.
