I've heard Kiki as a cute play on Kieran, but our Kieran is little and Kiki is still cute for him at this stage. It won't stick as a nickname and 99% of the people we meet get his name right on the first try.

This is exactly what I was thinking while I was reading this thread. Kieran isn’t even an uncommon name in the US. I think you’d have to be living under a rock to have never heard it before.
