Same goes for any clothes that get stained. Soak in cold water, then wash.


Add a little oxiclean or even hydrogen peroxide can go a long way and move this along in minutes.

I bought my oldest DD a book about menstruation.

At some stores, you can find “teen” size pads.

If I were in your shoes, I’d buy a variety. Get small and medium tampons, and get pads for “overnight” and for day. Get some with wings and some without. That way she can figure out what is good for her.

Side note: I also told DD that a man should be adult enough to buy supplies for a woman, if needed. If he can’t, he is too immature to date. This was more related to her not wanting her dad to ever do her laundry or buy supplies, and I said daddy knew all about it and there was nothing to be ashamed about.

Basically, I wanted to turn the “problem” back to the boy or man needing to grow up and not to the girl or woman needing to feel shame.
