Let’s not politicize this please.

People always say that and then nothing happens. How many of these do we have to see happen and listen to empty platitudes about thoughts and prayers while politicians continue to take money from gun manufacturers?

My son’s campus had a hoax this fall with reports of a shooter in the library. He was evacuated and called me as he was being escorted by police out of the building. I was going out of my mind. These poor kids and parents. Absolutely devastating.

Move the politics to the Politics forum.

Have some respect for the dead and injured -- and their families.

But you are referring to the victims of this shooting. Horrifying is right.

You can’t give it even an hour during an active shooting to begin screeching politics. This is scary, horrifying, and needs to be addressed, but right now, parents are worried their kids may be dead or soon dead

If you help put guns in the street, this blood is on you. I don’t give one crap if you are offended.

This.

Tomorrow will mark 13 years since Sandy Hook. The students shot today were likely born in the same years. We had 13 years. So when is "too soon", exactly?

It is NEVER a good time to talk about guns.

This is the world the GOP wants.

First mass shooting ever in Rhode Island.

It's just a matter of time before every state has had one. The state of Maine had its first a couple of years ago.

I think it's fair to speculate that the dead would like for gun violence to end.

NBC website:

Providence police released a brief description of a gunman.

"Preliminarily, all we have is a suspect that was a male dressed in black,” Providence Police Commander Timothy O’Hara, deputy chief of the department, said at a news conference.

"It is unknown how he entered the building, but we do know that he exited the Hope Street side of that complex,” O’Hara said.

Police received a call of an active shooter inside a building at Brown University and officers entered the building but did not find a suspect, he said.
