Uhhh,no we don't. |
They've done spring break the week after Easter before this. It's not frequent, but it does happen. |
Of course we do. 1 day isn't enough. Alternatively, we need to automatically use the mid-year make up days. The June days are the worst of all possible options. |
The first such day is September 11 which is soon after Labor Day. The other day April 21 is a Wednesday so no long weekend there. |
What about late July? |
Apparently they are making some changes to the calendar they approved last month. Sept 11 is now a school day, and the April 21 non instructional day moves to the 22nd. https://go.boarddocs.com/mabe/mcpsmd/Board.nsf/files/DQDTXW798FE7/$file/Apprv%20Tech%20Amends%20%202026-2027%20SY%20Calendars%20260122.pdf |
They also added a teacher workday on Nov 2, so there's a four day weekend covering Halloween/Election Day. |
| Looks like they are doing away with most of the religious holidays |
People travel. |
Is that work day reporting MP1 grades. |
They're not doing away with them, just correcting the dates so they're aligned. |
Yes |
At least there is some sanity in the calendar but why is November 9 off? |
Probably a union mandated day off for teachers |
It was originally the GP day for an August 31 week start. Since they are starting a week early the GP is now November 2 but November 9 is listed as NI. |
