26/27 Calendar

Per published planning docs, the 2026- 2027 calendar was supposed to be adopted today. Does anyone have any insight as to when we might see the calendar?

Why isn't the superintendent's recommendation for this on Board Docs?

They should remove the off days on September 11 and April 21.
Then they can start school two days later OR end school two days earlier OR add the two days to President's Day weekend.

They are not going to remove religious holidays.

They are not religious holidays. Rosh Hashana is September 12 (weekend). April 21 looks completely random.

4/21 may be pesach but there’s no need to have the day off of school. The Seders are in the evening.

So? I celebrate Passover and don't need a day off.
In 2023-24 Rosh Hashana was on a weekend and their was school the Friday before. They appeared to have a PD right before Passover in 2024 but was a PD not a full holiday.
BTW Passover starts the night of April 21, 2027 so April 22 is the first full day of Passover not April 21.

It's mostly good except those two wasted off days.
While they are starting two weeks before Labor Day for the first time in history (or decades) I blame that on Maryland law.
