How can I punish all the idiots on the road with obnoxious headlights or drive around without high beams on?

I’m not OP and I wouldn’t personally use the word “punish,” but yeah, it would be great to disincentivize people adding aftermarket crazy bright lights to their vehicles.

I guess we'll just hate to keep repeating it until it gets through your thick skull. WE ARE NOT ADDING AFTER MARKET LIGHTS. New cars come with lights brighter than you like. JFC!!!! Are you choosing to be dumb so you can justify shining YOUR brights at people?

Go F yourself. We’re talking about two different things. You’re talking about the original manufacturer headlights. I’m talking about the tricked out pickup trucks with additional lights added.

Right back at you. You have no idea what you're talking about or who has after market lights.

I think I'd rather just get those yellow glasses. Y'all sound scary.

Scary? I don’t want vigilante justice. I want the crazy bright aftermarket lights banned and I want law enforcement to fine people for having them. Cars shouldn’t pass inspection with them.

But meanwhile, until it’s banned, you want to punish people who didn’t commit any crime and may just have the vehicle they could afford so they can get their family around in the car dependent hellscape that is all most of us could afford.

We had just moved from a lovely walkable community (that we got gentrified out of) to a close in suburb when an elderly woman T-boned me. It was 4 pm on the day before the holiday. Enterprise gave us what they had. The agent tried for thirty minutes to adjust the lights. Eventually, he just apologized and sent us on our way.

Should I have been fined? Should we just have stayed home with a ruined holiday because that was the only rental we could get after someone’s senior grandma plowed into me?

No. If you have lights other than headlights on the front corners of your car (aka headlights), you have aftermarket lights. If you are driving in normal conditions, with them on, you are, indeed, an a-hole. 95% of the time it's a Jeep or a pickup.

You know every single make and model and what kind of lights they come with?

ZERO CHANCE!!!!

Have you been to an Ophthalmologist recently? You may need to get your eyes examined.

Do you not know how to flip your rearview mirror up?

All of you sound like a bunch of olds, complaining about those darn newfangled modern headlights, lolz.

You should all get those old people wraparound sun goggles they give geezers after they have cataract surgery or whatever.

Maybe it’s time for some of you to give up driving.

They can be adjusted. You're just a bad person.

Everyone wants that. Also crackdown on the overly tinted windows.
If we could have ICE give out these fines while they are on the streets doing roadblocks anyway, that would be great. Maybe they would focus more on the lights and tinted windows and less on light and tinted people.

Good one PP

How does that help when someone is coming at me in their urban-assault vehicle with their leds blazing?

The other day a pedestrian crossed in front of one of those cars, and was literally invisible to me due to the glare.

Haven't posted here, but you are completely missing the point. They are substantially brighter than the past. This isn't old man screaming at the cloud meme, it's the lights themselves that have changed (with some way more than others).

They cannot be adjusted.

You need your eyes checked.

In the woods - I see the point. Driving to soccer practice..turn them off.

Because the driver likes the light and doesn't care about you.

You keep insisting it’s the driver because you’re ignorant. Cars come with brigh lights these days. If I see mirrors and tape, you’re getting the high beams back.

Go-ahead, the mirrors and tape will just keep reflecting more intense light right back at you the more intense light you use, lol.

Isn’t hysterical that this poster, posting multiple times, still couldn’t figure it out? lol. They are an idiot for being so petty and a literal idiot for not understanding that is what would happen…

I don’t believe this. Someone literally blinded me the other night. People are driving around with high beams on clueless or uncaring.

If they “literally” blinded you, how did you type this response?
