I see it as a good way to test your kid’s dedication and commitment. If they can take this trip, endure the cold, and not just not complain but actually thrive on it, then they are committed enough to continue spending the money on it. If not you probably should reevaluate. |
Ah, yes, we all walked to school uphill both ways. |
Hahahaha that guy has ECNL coming out of his ears. If he says its bad, its bad |
walked to school uphill both ways in -20 degree windchill factors in blistering cold with flip flops and a tshirt |
No it won’t happen again. This is the second year in a row. Kids can’t play well if they are so cold. |
Look everybody, we found a snowflake who just DOESN'T WANT IT HARD ENOUGH. |
Not the PP, but you are an idiot, and using terms like snowflake identifies you as exactly what we thought you were. The Sat 8 am games were downright dangerous. The fields were ice rinks and more than one player was injured because of it. You either weren’t present for them, or, as I suspect from your snowflake comment, you are an imbecile. |

Arrived back from KC last night. Pretty much the whole plane outta KC to National was soccer players and parents.
Anyway. Here's my thoughts. 1) KC in December doesn't make sense, regardless if the Women's College Cup was there or not. The potential for crappy, cold weather is too high regardless of what kind of pitch is being made. 2) Two of the three games my DD played were at Scheels. No issues with the facility Our games were all later in the day- noon. Third game was moved to the Central Bank complex which was really nice. Can't comment on Paragon, although, LOL, I was told there as a bar. 3) My DD's team is U17. We have 15/18 committed - the 3 that are not are just now entering their window. Coach turnout was ok for the first two games. Maybe 20 or so. Only a handful at the third game on Monday. 4) I got to catch up with two of my DDs college coaches which was great. First time meeting them in person. 5) DDs team didn't play their best soccer - couple players didn't travel due to injury/illness and one got sick there, so had to call up players from the younger age group to cover in the last game. Overall soccer experience - I'd give it a C. Spending QT with my DD - that's always an A+. |
Great take. Same age group, same field locations and I agree, played later; weather was cold but not unbearable. DD got feedback from her committed coach. Team played well, those who are working on committing got some good looks from coaches. Overall; B for soccer experience and A+ as well for time with our girl. |

The whole weather in KC thing is tough and it's certainly a dice roll and ECNL lost. But, the thing is, they shouldn't even have to roll the dice with the event. If you are going to have an event in December, it needs to be held in a location where the weather is going to be favorable nearly 100 percent of the time. Nashville, St. Louis, KC are all POOR choices to have these events. |
NOT EVEN THE PRO or the ACC games we’re scheduled for morning games. |
