Oh well. Let's hope no one gets hypothermia like last year in St. Louis.

Where did you see them shortening the game?

Our team manager sent out a note indicating the times were shortened on the third day. Not sure where she saw it. Along with the usual overpriced gear will be available in the shoebox, you can buy tickets for the college cup through and ECNL link and for those fortunate enough not to be attending, the games will be streamed through HUDL for a fee.

Don't think the PP was trying to reignite the ECNL v GA debate but just that coaches go to both leagues events.

Thanks - I'm just trying to bring some levity to this process. It's been pretty trying - as my DD has gotten older, there is more politicking and other associated crap that goes along with stuff. Granted, some of my DD's best friends are soccer teammates, but at times it just does get tiresome. Maybe looking forward to KC a slightly bit more - just found out that one of my charges is not attending due to an illness, so I am now only responsible for my DD plus 2. LOL. Fun times.

No, not at all. Just stating the facts. Top recruiter at DD's committed school said that they would catch up in Florida. Said they were looking forward to the CA sunshine and were sending his two assistant coaches to KC! I don't care one way or another - I was just hoping I could catch up in person rather than Zoom. I'm not on the FL trip, my wife is going, again!

What is the average coach count at a game at these larger showcases - not at say the game that pits the top two clubs again each other - but a standard game. Is it 5-7 coaches at a game like that (say a middle of the pack type game - not best two teams, not worst two teams?

i've seen the photos with 50-60 coaches lined up at a certain game and i've seen the photos with 2 ... but on average, how do the sidelines look for the general games?

Incoming rant: ECNL KC will be another reason why ECNL needs to be broken up. Let's make a prediction: Shorten games, change of times, canceled games - AGAIN. Parents, like me, paying for all of the mess while staying awful hotels that are mandated to me by ECNL, too. Oh, but give me an option to buy my way out of Event Connect's mandatory stay to play, I mean some one has to get paid. Players missing school, parents missing work for a dog and pony show in the freezing cold while coaches will most likely not show for those two 8 am 18degree games against teams they played last month.

Midwest showcases in Dec don't work....TEN, STL. I mean, come on already. GO SOUTH!

And why is ECNL RL having a showcase the same weekend there? And why are there ECNLRL teams playing in the ECNL showcase when they have their own Showcase the same weekend.

ECNL needs to be broken up.

They try to match up teams so they are pretty even. In my DDs time going to these, there have only been a couple of times where her team or the opposition were really outclassed. Outside of playoffs and events like Jeff Cup, these are the only times that they really get to compete against other teams outside their conference. DD likes that aspect of it.

IDK. My DD went through the recruiting cycle last year as a U16 and it varied quite a bit. I would say average was around 20 coaches? Maybe not 20 different schools. Some games had many more - especially at ECNL playoffs.

Just something to think about too, just because the teams aren't top ranked, doesn't mean that coaches aren't going to show up. Doesn't make sense for coaches from a mid-major to go watch two teams made up of USYNT pool players and P4 level players play. They'll go to see the players that they are interested in recruiting.
