Trump doesn’t need MAGA anymore, but JD will if he aspires to higher office.

Trump doesn’t care about JD.

Trump is a mentally ill, demented narcissist. He does not care about anyone.
He is a brilliant con man, though. I'll give him credit for that.

Trump is the most gifted con man in the history of America.

But the MAGA base is finally sensing Donald Trump doesn't give a damn about white working class Americans. I think the break with Marjorie Tayler Greene is pretty significant. And she is gunning for those voters as she thinks about her political future. Throw in Tucker Carlson with all his issues with Trump. Add Nick Fuentes for the extremists. There are schisms all around for the Republican Party.

Democrats will likely win the House next November and I suspect they'll move to impeach Trump over a multitude of issues - from Epstein to corruption. This will fracture Republicans even further while Trump is a lame duck. It should be civil war within the Republican Party for the foreseeable future. And any Republican politician that has ambition will remove themselves from planet MAGA and that freak show.

But I've been surprised by the fealty of Mike Johnson and John Thune to the Trump grotesque before. So hopefully they get wiped out as things start to move quickly. And maybe we can have a sane GOP - Romney and McCain types - instead of this dangerous freak show. Trump is polling around 36 percent now - less than one year into his term. And that will decline significantly with each passing month. Trump is a sinking ship. But we shall see if Republicans believe in anything besides power.

The GOP is never going back to the Romney/McCain days. It is fully co-opted by populists and racists and people who are the opposite if fiscally conservative.

But nowadays politics is all about the money game. I think if the conservative billionaires funding them got their act together they could stuff the racists and extremists back into the closet where they belong.

I think MTG, Massie, and to a certain extent Boebert were all true believers. I think they genuinely believed QAnon and Trump mythology. They weren’t cynical but they have seen just how cynical Congress is.

Marjorie Taylor Greene trashes Trump’s MAGA credentials and implies Israel could be pressing him to keep Epstein files from public

It’s suddenly dawning on all of them that he’s a lame duck and a liability

MAGA has much more breadth of political views and most are intelligent and capable of forming their own opinions. So you’re mistaking freedom of thought and expression of varying opinions for hatred of Trump. They aren’t the same thing.

That’s funny. 😂😂😂😂

I think MTG learned something about Epstein and Trump. She got spooked and then seriously grounded. Because it’s 180 degree difference with her these days of late.

Yeah. I don’t get the sense she is “ops” or a spy as another poster suggested.

My take was she saw something in the Epstein Files, the unsanitized version, and it woke her up out of the cult.

Another idea is that she doesn’t care about what she saw in the files and just wants to save her career.

However, it’s quite wild that Mace, Boebert AND MTG turned. They’ve had conversations, no doubt. They decided this was the way to go.

Any Trump endorsement or close association with Trump will be a costly burden to GOP politicians competing in elections through 2028 just as it was during Trump's 1st term. You'll see more and more GOP politicians attempting to separate themselves from Trump going forward. Trump is as unpopular now as he was during his 1st term and as Biden was in 2024. Any politician who doesn't want their career to go down with Trump's ship will be looking to jump ship before it goes down.

The billionaires like the racists and extremists because it keeps the little people fighting while they rape our treasury.

MTG spent a lot of time bird dogging Dem MoCs on the Hill for some time before she ran for office, especially about how Parkland was a false flag planned event. That's whack and that's why I think she is an ops.

You are a better person than I. Good luck.

Those vocal MAGA “friends” that I still see on social media have been noticeably quiet over the past few weeks

I'm with you. I'll have a hard time trusting the person who displayed Hunter Biden's junk in a congressional hearing.

In maga eyes he can do no wrong, and with Fox messaging and spinning Trump may experience a brief unsettling but will come out smelling like roses yes again. Nothing seems to actually have an impact on him, he suffers no consequences, and karma has a bubble around him so God knows what reason.

Idk. These MAGA people are fickle. I know a J6er that voted for Obama. And I’ve noticed other MAGA folks I know have been changing their tune on social media.

Until MTG publicly rebukes Nick Fuentes, she is still part of that ecosystem, so, no thanks, even if she is right on a couple of issues.

Once again, MAGA has turned inward and begun attacking its own. Indiana State Senator Greg Goode was the target of a swatting incident on Sunday, just hours after Trump publicly criticized him and other Republican lawmakers for refusing to redraw the state’s congressional map.

This was said over and over: once you start to disagree with Trump, he will sic his attack dogs on you. Trump is a narcissistic bully; you want to neither be on his good side nor his bad side. Just stay far away from him.
