Is Trump losing his grip on MAGA?

MAGA has much more breadth of political views and most are intelligent and capable of forming their own opinions. So you’re mistaking freedom of thought and expression of varying opinions for hatred of Trump. They aren’t the same thing.

Are MAGAs that delulu? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I actually don't think they are. It's become a much more half-hearted defense of Trump in general.

Yep. My parents were unfortunately pretty big Trump supporters and are mostly disgusted by him especially due to the economic policies.

Will they change their vote though?

No Trump is maga. What Trump says is what maga believes. It you disagree you are out.

This is patently false. The GOP/MAGA is largely comprised of the white upper/middle and trades working class, many who are small business owners. One merely needs to look at the professions of many people caught up in J6 to know this. The Democrats are a much more heterogeneous group, including Blacks, white college educated professionals, and many, but not all, POC. What the heck - just look at Trump's EO signings v Biden bill signings and see who is gathered behind him. There is no way Dems would convene a working group on women's health and not have women at the table.

If you have examples demonstrating the breadth of political views under MAGA, please feel free to share them here in order to substantiate your claims.

The MAGAs have many different thoughts about things, like age of consent and horse paste versus injecting bleach.

I desperately want to believe he’s losing his base and that the Epstein files will bring him down but I’m a realist and know that he has bounced back from worse. In maga eyes he can do no wrong, and with Fox messaging and spinning Trump may experience a brief unsettling but will come out smelling like roses yes again. Nothing seems to actually have an impact on him, he suffers no consequences, and karma has a bubble around him so God knows what reason.

You’re confusing MIGA with MAGA.

It’s true, that’s 30 or so percent of the weirdos that still support him are beyond any kind of help. I feel bad for their families

Kind of amazing to see them wake up from the koolaid induced slumber!

MTG is the wrestling heel that nobody could ever imagine turning to the side of good, and yet here we are.

TBH, the jury is still out for me. Believe she has always been an ops and she may be acting that way now to pave way for Vance with her as veep.

Not Vance, Tucker. Vance ain’t got no rizz

Excuse me, excuse me.
People say “Sir, sir, we’re so happy, sir.”
They’ve nevvah been happier.
A year ago this country was gone.

It was totally gone, thanks to Sleepy Joe,
But it’s never been hottah.

People are saying “Sir, sir, can you stay in permanently, sir?”
So we’re taking a look, from the standpoint of coup.

We’re taking a look at it.

There's some truth to this in that there's a Republican base that is never, ever going to abandon the Republican party. They aren't voting for Republicans as much as they are voting against Democrats. These people might stay home or protest vote with a write in, but by and large they will excuse anything Trump does because he's a Republican and they want to stop Democrats. Basically, it's the Rush Limbaugh-ification of the GOP.

Time will tell. But many of these people were democrats. While they may not outright vote democratic yet, they can see what’s happening with their grocery bills. And small businesses are getting screwed by the tariffs. And farmers have been hurt by USAID and SNAP cuts and tariffs. It adds up.

PP here. The people I am talking about were not Democrats, not at any time in the last 50 or so years.

But his base is small. They are noisy, but can't put his cronies into office in 2026, if we have elections. I'm sure Stephen Miller and Russ Vought are working hard to find a way to declare martial law and cancel the midterms.

Trump doesn’t need MAGA anymore, but JD will if he aspires to higher office.

Trump doesn’t care about JD.

Trump is a mentally ill, demented narcissist. He does not care about anyone.
He is a brilliant con man, though. I'll give him credit for that.

He needs MAGA because the cowardly Congress won't blindly follow everything Trump says if they no longer fear for their jobs.

Please do. Fortunately I do not have to spend holidays with MAGA so I will be very curious to hear about this.
