They may lose one or two and they may pick up one or two.

The major changes will occur between 8th and 9th grade.

Stars hasn’t been able to retain teams beyond the 8th grade and it seems like the program is losing momentum overall.

Players move to put themselves in the best situation for high school. Roster turnover is minimal once they hit high school so 8th grade is the year.

Most dmv players will look at capital but there are some players in the area that will jump to a Md club next summer or even to start 9th grade. It if you can g at on the team for 8th grade it would be better. Md teams are looking for a few players to fill holes the coach sees. I would suggest reaching out to a coach during NGLL if you’re planning on moving or trying out. Most coaches know who players are from other teams but it’ll help if you reach out first.

Is it better to move to an M&D/Hero’s etc. top team way before 8th grade to give yourself the advantage of having to be unseated by newcomers vs coming in at 7th or 8th grade and trying along with 20-60 other girls to unseat 1-2 existing players on the team? I always have wondered what’s the best path there.

If you can get your foot in the door earlier it’s better. It also helps if you speak with the coach before hand and go to an open practice. Most teams are only looking for a few players.

i'm not sure any players have any real other options. make sure your daughter gets more than empty promises if she's swayed. the talent level probably doesn't justify it.

I am looking for a lacrosse team in or around nova that does NGLL for my daughter, 2031. Understanding that she would need to tryout but looking to see what teams are out there. From some of the posts I see Stars, YJ, D3 and M&D. Any other options you would recommend?

What's D3?

In NGLL A Bracket this year, it's BLC Blue, STARs Light Blue, YJMA Great Falls, M&D DC, 3D VA Orange.
In NGLL B Bracket this year, it's BLC Orange, 3D VA Silver, Pride Nova, Stars Navy
