Nyu as top 30ish, is interesting. Must be their graduate programs and stern that's pushing its ranking.

Quality of undergrad is more important if you are shopping for undergrad school. Harvey Mudd is not even on this list because no grad programs. But Mudd is GREAT at undergrad STEM.

omg not this again...this is getting so old. It's not just these schools have graduate schools but it is also the undergraduate research opportunities at these at these schools which are created by the graduate work. They go hand in hand. Harvey Mudd cannot compete with the Top Stem schools for research opportunities for undergrads. They are fine in their lane but they are in a different lane and it's not close.

Again, send your kids to U of Arizona then…..spare me the bullshit

Clearly. These rankings are not meant for high schoolers in the us to select their unis for undergrad education. Arizona and others ahead of Ivies and T20 schools is ludicrous….

Stick with Undergraduate rankings.

I understand what you are saying...BUT the fact that Notre Dame is not up there with the Top Stem schools for research made it a less attractive option for my Engineering focused kid . But we truly did like everything else about the school. I would say they do sell the football program quite a bit there and there is nothing wrong with that.

Kudos to your student for knowing themselves well enough to gravitate more towards research-heavy STEM schools.

As for football, I think there are just some schools that are in position to leverage their respective combination of academics and athletics, places like Stanford, Michigan, Notre Dame, UCLA. I mean, if you've got the pedigree, use it. Today's SEC schools are also using their football teams and overall athletics program as a sort of "welcome mat" to get kids interested in the institution. If ya got it, flaunt it, baby!

Going to have to start clearing some room at this table for UMD, no?

It’s a list of schools with the biggest international donors. Duh.

Also noted that the top-3 US public universities are the same on both the US News "2026 Best Colleges" list and the Times Higher Education "2026 World University Rankings" list:

1. University of California, Berkeley
2. University of California, Los Angeles
3. University of Michigan, Ann Arbor

Top 4 on Times
1. University of California, Berkeley
2. University of California, Los Angeles
3. University of Michigan, Ann Arbor
4. Georgia Institute of Technology

I thought UVA was the 4th Public?

Sadly, the presence of serpentine walls was not among the criteria in this ranking.
