1. He was only the number 1 most streamed artist globally for 3 years, beaten only by Taylor Swift in 2024 (he has over 100 billion streams). He has 51m youtube subscribers and 35m TikTok followers. So i think a lot of people know who he is and

2. We're not the ones with our knickers in a twist about it. That's Trump and Noem

I’m not talking about TikTok or YouTube subscribers. I’m talking about everyday people. If I ask any of my elderly relatives, they will tell you they know who Taylor Swift is. Many will likely not recognize the name Bad Bunny. That’s all I’m saying. This is why you aren’t hearing more people talk about this right now.

They have no idea who Bad Bunny is but the second FOX News says Bad Bunny is bad for whatever concocted reason they suddenly agree Bad Bunny is bad and have all sorts of halfbaked opinions about the matter.

This is my experience the last few days on Facebook, where middle aged and older folks are screaming about Bad Bunny hating America and not singing in English. Undoubtably most of them don’t understand the English lyrics of most popular music stars in general or who have performed the halftime show at the SB, but whatsoever this guy is brown, wears dresses, isn’t a real American, and won’t sing in English so they hate him because Fox and other right wing media told them to.

It’s ridiculous. Honestly I never knew who he was I’m middle aged and out of the loop but I’ve been watching his music videos and I’m excited to see what he does in the show. I don’t watch NFL but I will watch the halftime show probably later online.

I'm a full fledged maga, and my feed is full of images of the Knights Templar amassing, with textual suggestions that it's time for a crusade. I've got footage of the riots in the UK with text that says some variation of "the time is coming". I've got lots and lots of reels from government agencies about taking out illegals.

I haven't seen shit about bad bunny. No one cares who is playing at the halftime show, my man. We have much bigger ambitions.

I’ve never heard any of his songs. He was hired to deliver an anti-Trump and anti-ICE political message at the Super Bowl. Most of the NFL’s audience is English-speaking Americans, yet they hired a singer who only writes songs in Spanish. They are giving a middle finger to their audience, so i don’t intend to watch.

Bad Bunny was Spotify most streamed artist in 2020, 2021, 2022, and #2 in 2023 and #4 in 2024.

His star may be hading, but that’s when NFL likes to put musicians on.
