What are some ideas for "target schools" for 1500+ SAT, 3.75 unweighted gpa, male, poli sci?

Not sure if the OP said where she was, but a lotta kids in this area will resist going so close to home as GWU.

If they don't provide generous merit then it's definitely not the best option.

Look into Richmond and Bucknell.

Bucknell is not as in the middle of nowhere as some make it out to be on this forum. It is in Lewisburg and the students can walk into town.

With a higher test score > 1560, you may get in one of Cornell, Dartmouth, Penn, and Columbia; or more often deferred then rejected or accepted.

Better luck at Georgetown and Emory and WUSTL if the score is 1500+.

It also depends on what composed of applicant pool this year at your school.

It’s a private thought right?

My 3.8uw 33 ACT was admitted to Cornell and Michigan OOS

Yes, rpivate school.

There is an invisible line drawn at 3.8. For 3.7+ kids at our private, requires 1560+ to get a chance to be seriously considered at ivies. It's very hard to ignore that GPA. But their applications definitely get read as indicated by deferrals and some acceptances.

This is based on data in the past several years. With test required this year it may be different or may not be.

Agree at our private too.
There’s a difference btw 3.7uw and 3.8uw at our private HS too.

3.7uw needs to be strategic w/ED choice and not aim too high.
