Will Chain Bridge road shooting become a national story about DC crime?

I am a liberal and have owned guns all my life

My whole family has so has my husbands family.

We believe in responsible gun laws .
Given Trump we have bought even more

I thought crime was down? Like at historic lows?

It was but now under TrUmp crime has taken off.

Nope. It’s working!

Owned by a holding company?
Multiple private security firms?

This is clearly someone with enemies, and he's bringing his problems to DC.

Given that it’s Chain Bridge they might not even be American. Thats Saudi/rich foreign oligarch territory.

Including people like Andrea Mitchell.

Tucker C lived there — until a couple years ago — when he was still making big $$$

Well, duh. People living under military rule are going to sit quiet and not report crimes.

The question is do you want to live in an America where military rule is the norm?

The conversation is not about crime; it’s about Home Rule and individual liberty.

Yes, $20/hr overnight security guards are frequently the targets of hit men.

JFC……. the stupid around here is so painful

DP. You are the stupid one. Why does someone living in a 3.5 million dollar house need security? I live in a neighborhood that has a mix of 2+ million dollar houses, up to around 5 million. No one has security. It’s laughable to think anyone would. So why does this resident living in a cheaper, unimpressive house need 24 hour rent a cops?

Do you not know any rich people? I know a lot. People with 50+ million. Not one of them uses rent a cops. Of course the “hit” most likely wasn’t on the security guard. I think it was something to do with the resident. Who is clearly shady and not very wealth by DC standards.

What a bunch of bs. I live nearby and we walk/ drive by this house all the time. There has been a ton of private security very recently. This definitely sounds like a targeted shooting.

It's a Trump official, but not Sec of Navy. The security around 3030 is very deep and very obvious and has been for a month. You almost couldnt pick a worse place to do a burglary in NW than right there.

No, Tucker the douche didn't live on Chainbridge. He lived on Lowell and Palisade lane which are nearby, and briefly on University Terrace which is one street over. But that was several years ago now. He left DC thank god.

WTF are you on about? It’s a house that sold for $20 mil in June/July. That’s TWENTY not two or five. The Zillow listing is very out of date. The discussion however made that clear so are you not reading just sharing your stupid opinions? So go back to your McMansion in North Potomac or McLean or whatever suburb you live it.

No, in fact it says the opposite to me, targeted hit of rich persons property. Probably disaffected employee, organized crime, or someone with a personal grudge against the security staff member.

If I lived even right next door I wouldn't be concerned.

We have a house nearby and I can’t think of one family that has security. There’s a reason they felt like they needed it, and it has nothing to do with DC

I live nearby too and many have security. What are you talking about?

They really do not. I’ve lived nearby since the 80s and know practically every house. There are a few diplomats with security snd occasionally there will be an administration appointee with secret service and in the late 80s there was a neighborhood watch type setup, but that’s it.

Agree, and also live nearby. Few families around here have private security. It’s not necessary and, unless you are with an embassy, rather cheesy.

"Hi everyone
This is what I know from first accounts:

1. At approximately 3 am a ring cam showed three people trying unsuccessfully to break into a car parked at a house on CBR across from Battery Kemble park. The ring cam photo has been provided to police
2. The trio that was followed by a gray or silver car went a few houses uphill on the street - apparently deciding or having decided to break into another car(s) and home on CBR in which the family was home. (Whether or not the burglars knew that they family was home is unknown to me)
3. A private security guard stationed in front of the newly purchased and quite expensive home at 3030 CBR saw the three going towards the neighbor’s house and confronted them. I believe he did so by asking something along the lines of “can I help you.” One or more of the three burglars fired on him, and he fired back.
4. The security agent was released from the hospital but sustained at least an injury to his face.
5. The family in the targeted house are physically unharmed.
6. As far as we know, the three armed burglars and whomever was driving the car are still at large.
7. In my opinion, we should all check our security and ring cam systems to see if we can provide additional images.
8. Personally, we upgraded our already relatively intense security system today, and like our neighbors, we are redoubling use of our alarm systems. We will personally be using them day and night for the foreseeable future.

How frightening! Glad the security guard was present, he likely interrupted a home invasion.

So dumb that people keep repeating this in light of the security guard at 3030 being SHOT interrupting an attempted burglary of a neighboring home. That is CHEESY? I’m sure the neighbors are grsteful and as one has posted, ramping up their own security.

Wrong. Normal rich people on Chainbridge don’t have security.

+1 a $20M property has nothing to do with me

Feel bad for the victim.
