When will shorter hair on women become more common?

If your face is not pretty, short hair makes it worse.

That being said, I can’t wait for the extensions and fake uncombed hair look of maga to disappear! Yuck.

Picture of this uncombed hair look?

I think Noem fits in here.
Someone else said mid-back, but Noem and Guilfoyle are examples of hair (fake) that goes to the belt. It's the hair version of Trump's tie.

They will be bald someday because of their fake hair.

I think long hair has been in style so long that it's due for some variety in length to come back.

Well, this is true.

All the women, white, black, asian, hispanic, using weaves and fake hair are damaging their natural hair.

The taller and skinnier a woman is, the more they can pull off the short hair look, but it still looks rather bad.
Long hair has always been more feminine, even with men.

OP
When I started the thread I was also thinking in terms of what women in public view wear, especially those considered models of attractiveness, to state it awkwardly. Which also is reflected in the population.

Long hair isn't stopping Melania from looking like Donald.

Women in the public have worn long layers for a long time. It’s gotten kind of boring. It’s been a long time since public figures experimented with short hair like Linda Evangelista.

Not so much on Instagram or in Trump's version of DC politics and plastic surgery..

+1. Though it mainly is Kristin Noem who has Real House Wives extensions. Does Melania have extensions? It looks like her real hair to me.

I feel like European women wear their hair short more often, and it looks really chic and fabulous. American women are in thrall to long hair for some reason.

You think long hair looks good on women in their 60s? I don’t know many women in their 60s with hair that’s thick enough to pull off long hair. We may have different definitions of long and short hair though.

People are using long hair as some kind of shield. Like it will distract people from other things about you. What they don’t realize is that hair can be distracting because sometimes it looks terrible.

What you don’t realize is they don’t care. They wear it how they like.

I do realize that. The conversation is whether it looks good. The hair looks terrible but they use it distract from something they like even less.

Men like longer hair on women, at least shoulder length.
Shorter hair is seen as more lesbian thing or older woman thing.

Styles come and go. At some point, long hair will read as old lady and short stylish hair will read as youthful and fashionable.

Not for men. It's a long held universal truth they prefer longer hair.

Sure, and they prefer tighter, shorter clothes. That’s not same as what’s the current style.

Bad analogy.

ALL of our husbands prefer skinny jeans to the wide leg look and yet all the women I know wear the wide leg look. Women style themselves for other women.

Agreed! My dh begs me not to wear my wide legged pants. He thinks they look so unsexy on me. It’s strange too because he has never commented on my clothes otherwise. And I do think I look good in the wide legged pants, but skinny jeans are great.

I have very long hair and it is a PITA. It’s definitely very hard to maintain. I love it though and hate it every time I cut it. We were just commenting last night as we watched an old film how bad the women look on there because of short hair. They looked like grandma’s at 40. If Princess Di looked good with short hair- imagine how hot she would have been with long hair

Not a melania fan but you can’t pick on her hair. She looks great. Nothing like her husbands gross hair.
