You’re the one who brought up texting and driving. |
Same same same. |
I think the fact that other people text while driving has nothing to do with the fact that texting while driving is dangerous and no one should be texting while driving. Are you ten yrs old? Well, yes, your friend, Jimmy rides without a helmet. That doesn’t make it safe, does it? So stupid. |
? Wrong person PP. |
This! It’s hard to eat or drink coffee while driving too - which is my DH issue with his sports car. |

Do not buy a used WRX!
Most Drivers beat them to hell and put little into maintenance. Personally, I would find him an old Toyota manual pick-up truck. |
+1 but I got mine at 16. It was a Toyota and those clutches take a licking and keep on ticking. |
| I mean, you learned on a manual too, right? I know I did, in my home country in Europe. I wouldn't have any problems getting a manual for my kids, but in our household, they don't get their own cars as teens. We already have two (automatic) cars that are enough for 4 people, what with our school walkability and flexible parent schedules. |
I know quite a few people that owned Mazda 3s with manual transmissions. They are great cars. |
| The WRX is too fast. Get another manual. |
| Manual yes. Sporty no. |
| Old Toyota pickup sounds great. |
+1 Getting harder to do but not impossible. Absolute no to a WRX, there are other Subarus, plus Hondas and Mazdas and VWs available in stick. Also a fair amount of Wranglers. |

Here’s a manual Subaru that’s not a WRX. https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/vehicle/748493885?allListingType=all-cars&city=Chevy%20Chase&maxPrice=22000&minPrice=15000&state=MD&transmissionCode=MAN&clickType=listing |
