I have no problem waiting at all. I said I expect my server to periodically check my drink. That’s not excessive and I’m not watching a clock. I do mind if my whole meal goes by and I don’t get a refill on my drink. That’s poor service. It does happen and at more than one restaurant. |

This is one of dcums dumbest threads.
There are all kinds of things to complain about at restaurants… this is not one. |
Cool, then I’ll be sure not to refill your f@&$”g drink. |
Then bring a larger glass or two at a time bb |
| We only have one size glass. And bringing 2 at a time would imply that the person is consuming their beverage at an excessive rate. Would be impolite. |
| Some of the impolite individuals who dine in my establishment, after consuming their beverage at an excessively quick rate, choose to hold their cup up into the air and shake the glass. |
In the heat it’s not impolite. I’ve had servers do it and it was thoughtful. Ask you employer for larger glasses. |
You should monitor it better. What is excessive? They are paying for it and that’s your job. It’s hot out. |
It’s iced tea. Not ice tea. |
No, soda dulls the tastebuds. Wayyyy too much sugar. There are no “soda pairings,” you know. |
Oooo next time we are out, I’m totally going to ask my server which soda pairs nicely with the entree I’ve chosen! Hope I can keep a straight face. |

I usually drink 3 glasses of water during a meal. Mainly because they put so much ice in the glass, it's just not that many ounces of water.
Running out of water and having to wait a long time just to catch the server's attention, means I have to stop eating after a few bites if I'm really thirsty. For the last year I've started ordering 2 glasses of water right from the start. Sometimes we "joke" that I'm just saving the server a trip to the table later. There are 2 "nicer" restaurants in our little town and they both serve small glasses of room temp water. Now I have to ask for 2 tall glasses of ice water when we go there. I hate being annoying, but I just want to have ice water available the entire time I'm eating! |
Sounds like a medical condition. As a server I'd be leery about having too many water glasses on the table and spills. Maybe bring your own refillable bottle of water and keep it closed when not drinking from it. |
This, my friend was finishing her lemonade and got a full glass without out asking. She was visibly annoyed, she just wanted a water. |
