Race on common app

The box still exists because colleges are still required to report the data to the federal government on the enrolled class.

Who in fed is collecting this now? Oh right only collect from blue state colleges to take away funding or from a GMU type in a purple state

How do they prove they didn’t give URMs a preference without data to back them up?

We already saw the fishing expedition at UVA - DOJ asked for undergrad admissions data, essays, etc. Then they came back for law school. Then they went for the business school. They didn’t find any stories and switched to targeting the president.

Data proves they aren’t breaking the law…for now. We’re now in a phase where feelings overrule data in the government.

I wouldn’t have dreamed of identifying myself as anything other than Asian-American when applying to college or just American, which I am! Africa is an important and valued part of my family history. India is my cultural heritage. America is my core identity.

Were you personally born in Africa, though?

She wasn't born in India, either.

This!

All the mix race kids I know of chose the non-Asian race in college application.

Goes to show people here are just hypocrites and down right racists. Only racists would defend this racism knowing it’s true.

If you are Asian, high score, should check the box this year.

That’s what I think everyone should do.

We don’t check it

URM should boycott the race box this year. Don’t check it. Don’t leave any trace for Fed. I think AN also recommended against writing about it in essays.
