22 Year old Grocery Clerk in charge of Terrorism Prevention

Just because the typical DCUM 22 yr old boomerang is living at home again after finishing undergrad doesn’t mean every 22 year old is as inept as your kid. Failure to launch is a problem that clearly disproportionately affects DCUM bubble dwellers.

You agree with everyone else. Because these pilots are in training. They are not in charge of anything without the required experience.

The stupidity knows no bounds. Do you understand the difference between flying a single plane and taking directions to giving directions as head of a department that literally risks American lives? There are mandatory flying hours, there are no hours of training this child has done.

This Fugate kid didn't "launch" - he was installed. He is abysmally inexperienced and unqualified, unlike the fighter pilot example. A USAF fighter pilot would typically go through USAFA, ROTC or Officer Training, would have a bachelor's degree, and be commissioned. They would need 1 year of undergraduate pilot training in a T-6 and T-38, 2 month fighter fundamentals training, 9 month F-16 course and qualification, minimum 70 flight hours, 59 sorties, 245 academic hours and simulator training. Then 6-12 months combat readiness training. Along with meeting a bunch of other qualifications and requirements.

This Fugate kid has nothing, just an undergrad degree and some summer job type stuff.

Again, without even going into specifics about this particular 22 year old, don’t assume everyone’s kid is as dumb as the one you spawned. Making broad generalizations about every 22 year old based on your own underachiever make you look stupid.

This kid's predecessor was an Army veteran with more than two decades of national security experience. Meanwhile Fugate's recent jobs include gardener and grocery store clerk.

I really can’t tell if you are over estimating the capabilities of 22 yos or under estimating the requirements of this job.

I have met lots of highly capable 22 yos but none of them would consider themselves capable of managing an anti-terrorism agency.

I've met some really talented 22 year olds, but to suggest that they are ready to run a major program is ridiculous.

There is a reason why Silicon Valley venture capitalists require 18-25 year old whiz kids to hire adults with real experience as CEO when they go public. See, for example, Eric Schmidt and Google.

You know nothing about becoming a fighter pilot. Just stop. You should be happy you said this stupidity on an anonymous forum and not in person; thereby, confirming to people your stupidity.

He was General secretary of his college model UN team so u checked with a college kid on a competitive model UN team and apparently his college UN team didn’t even compete. He probably wasn’t even a good gardener/grocery clerk. This kid is all hat, no horse. And even the hat is probably an Amazon order synthetic imitation hat.

And I haven't even seen any evidence of this kid even being any kind of a whiz kid at all. But then again Trump also thought Jared Kushner was a whiz kid who could do anything (even though he couldn't)
