22 Year old Grocery Clerk in charge of Terrorism Prevention

Anonymous wrote:So what if he has a background in gardening and grocery sales. He' paid his way and is college educated and I'm sure very eager and willing to learn on the job. Not everyone is born into a life of luxury and riches. Hard-working middle class folk are the type of people we need in the government.

He’s 22 fking years old! How has he “paid his way”? How is he qualified to be in a leadership position? Put him in the basement with the other GS-10 junior policy analysts. “Only the best people”. LMAO.

We are officially a laughing stock (if we weren’t already) of the world.

I never want to hear about “DEI HIRES” ever again. Qualified POC have been let go but this child gets to run a 18 million dollar budget?!

He isn’t “in charge” of anything, liar. He’s an ASSISTANT.

What exactly do you think qualifies him to be the Assistant Head of Homeland Security? Also, not that you care or anything, but the Assistant or Deputy in any governmental function is the one who actually executes the day to day responsibilities of the office. The head handles the politics and big picture. So someone's short-bus-riding son being Assistant is actually even worse.

As someone with a son who "rides the short bus", can you please find a different way to express your disdain for this person? Because having a disability isn't the issue here. I'm sure there are plenty of other well deserved insults you could use.

PP. I'm really sorry. I shouldn't have said that. I have people with disabilities in my family and I would go mad if I heard someone use that phrase in real life. I don't know why I wrote that and I'm sorry.

How would it even occur to you to do that? This guy is woefully unqualified. You do not need to resort to rank bigotry to make your point.

He better not mess up the government!

Our government is run by responsible people who have never permitted a terror attack on US soil!!

Have you ever used a brain cell to realize that there could have been hundreds of more attacks if we hadnt had qualified people in these roles? This is a cult - you are all brainwashed

Really? So we need stricter immigration laws to prevent terror attacks on US soil?

DP. Reminder that the 9/11 hijackers all came here legally. In that specific case, the worst terrorist stacked on US soil, it was our intelligence and our president at the time that failed us, not our immigration laws.

The intelligence did not fail us. Bush refused to pay attention. It sat on his desk

Almost as disturbing are the young folks who readily accept these assignments knowing they don’t have the skills to do the job.

You clearly didn’t read the article.

“Thomas Fugate, who graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio just 12 months ago, is currently heading up the Center for Prevention Programs and Partnerships at the DHS, as first reported by ProPublica Tuesday.”

Same article: “ Since leaving college, Fugate has had a meteoric rise in the political world, having served as an “advance team member” on President Donald Trump’s 2024 campaign, according to his LinkedIn page.

An avowed Republican, he also interned at the Heritage Foundation, the think tank behind Project 2025, and for Texas Representatives Terry Wilson and Steve Allison.”

And? Still seems like a big job for someone with only intern experience.

Republicans, is this winning to you? Your family lives here too.

Yeah, that's pretty bad. That program is a lot of coordination with state and locals. I will say that these types of appointments are made all the time across administrations, though. Most of these appointees are just warm bodies earning $150-200k a year.

Yeah, this is nothing unusual for this administration or the previous ones. High positions in the government have always had these types of people running the show. The gardening and grocery aspect just makes for a bold headline that Trump haters are looking to use.

DEI is only needing to write an essay about how much you love President Yam Tits to get the job regardless of qualifications.

DEI is Linda "low on the totem pole" McMahon.
DEI is Kkkaroline "ew black people" Leavitt.
DEI is David "we have a hurricane season??" Richardson.
DEI is RFJ Jr. as a HHS secretary without any form of Md or PhD after his name.
DEI is Tulsi Gabbard whose only idea on how to get Trump to ingest the daily briefings is by having Fox News set up in the WH.
DEI is Pete "glug, glug, woo-hoo" Hegseth.

Perfection, no notes

He is very unattractive. Surprised Trump would want an ugly guy. Also, he looks like a foreigner.

Keep making fun of some who had a menial job when they were young. It totally wins over voters.

You call AOC a bartender with that mouth?

No one is complaining that he had a menial job when he was young. People are complaining that he is still young and has had nothing but menial jobs and therefore is grossly unqualified for his current position.
