I once worked overseas with white South Africans, and they were all working to get UK citizenship due to government persecution (and many of them were successful).

There's a long history of race-based attacks on African farmers, not just in SA but also in Zimbabwe and other countries. So this all fits the fact pattern.
Add onto it that our own state department acknowledges that reports of government violence are credible. Here's a report from 2023, so it cant be accused of being "manipulated" by the Trump administration: https://www.state.gov/reports/2023-country-reports-on-human-rights-practices/south-africa/

There's only one reason you're fighting this, and that's because the victims are white. Full stop. It's so transparent.

I have known a number of South Africans who are white, and most of them told me they are trying to get friends and family out of SA.

I also knew a family who escaped Zimbabwe after their family farm was attacked and confiscated; the government condoned it and the family lost everything.

Things are not OK in South Africa, as much as many in the U.S. and EU want to pretend otherwise.

The big difference between South Africa and Zimbabwe is that in South Africa, the government is not condoning it. Yes, there have been some racially-motivated attacks in South Africa but there is no government-sponsored or government-condoned "genocide" going on. People are peddling a false equivalence and false narrative.

For a start, in the case of the Ramaphosa meeting, he confused images of the Democratic Republic of Congo with South Africa and a protest that showed white crosses by the side of the road with some mass burial ground. When your cult leader uses an iota of intelligence, judgement and discretion to consider fact from fiction, only then might we respect his words.

Trump also confused Ramaphosa with Malema and many other things. All of this points to a guy of failing mental capacities who is delusional and not in command of all the facts surrounded by a bunch of equally ill-informed yes-men who instead of briefing and advising him, keeping him on track, keeping him credible, factual, reliable, consistent and trustworthy, just keep enabling him.

In other news, Venezuelans were NOT eating cats and dogs as claimed, Hunter's laptop did NOT, in fact contain evidence of Biden family corruption, foreign influence and laundering of tens of millions as claimed, elections were NOT "stolen" from Trump, and J6 was NOT perpetrated "feds" and "antifa."

https://impactpolicies.org/news/449/the-white-genocide-rhetoric-a-tool-to-pressure-south-africa-over-the-israel-icj-case

As was mentioned several times in the thread, this is all a farce tied to Israel's ICJ case:

The sudden elevation to the center of U.S.-South Africa diplomatic engagement at this moment is deeply tied to South Africa’s prominent legal challenge against Israel at the International Court of Justice.

The amplification of the white genocide narrative is being strategically deployed to pressure and discredit Ramaphosa’s government, aiming to weaken South Africa’s position and moral authority as it pursues its genocide case against Israel.

Israel and its allies have dismissed the allegations as “baseless,” at the ICJ while South Africa has faced accusations of acting as a proxy for Hamas.

No one is saying that “Things are …OK in South Africa”. People are saying that SA is a country beset with violence — that doesn’t single out the Afrikaners for any special attention. The violence is hardly condoned by the government.

Why are you talking about people you know who lived in Zimbabwe? Their government is not in charge of South Africa. Are you confused? Do all African governments look alike to you?

What I find interesting is that the Trump Administration has said that they want to attract people who can easily assimilate into American culture. So they picked racist white farmers. That sounds about whyte.

I’ll freely admit I’m not sure exactly what those tombstones are supposed to represent, but I know it’s not an actual cemetery. But apparently Orange Fatso couldn’t deduce that.

Imagine being that dumb.

And now remember that that’s our president.

Imagine being so dumb that you get confused and use clips of Malema, who's a member of the opposition, to attack Ramaphosa, who went out of his way to be inclusive, include Afrikaners in his government in key positions, to be anti-racist and so on. To Trump and his staffers I guess all blacks look alike?

This Presidency is the dumbest of our lifetimes.

It's striking how every single world leader he sits down with is leagues smarter and more knowledgeable than him. All we have is a senile old man spouting lies and conspiracy theories he found online.

South Africa is not Zimbabwe, but whites have been trying to conflate what happened in Zimbabwe with violence against white farmers in SA since apartheid ended.

And yes, SA has a very high crime rate. I lived there from '05-'07 and almost every South African had a story of being robbed, home invasions. Criminal gangs would hit a mall, clean out a jewelry store, and sometimes that would involved someone being shot and killed. I was on a safari and the front desk of the lodge was robbed right before we returned from an evening drive. There is a lot of crime there and yes, a lot of it happens to whites. Not necessarily because they are white but BECAUSE THEY HAVE THE MONEY. Crime also happens to wealthy and middle class black South Africans too. And I honestly think many of you would be amazed at the high standard of living you can attain in South Africa with a little bit of money.

But all of that is a very far cry from a government-sponsored white genocide that would necessitate refugee status for Afrikaners. That's not happening. And that's the the whole point that people are making.

This tracks with what I’ve heard from a number of people I know who live in South Africa.

‘Because they have money’ is right. Anyone wearing jewelry, driving a car, talking on a mobile phone outside, carrying a laptop case, shopping bags, etc. is a target. You have to be very street mart navigating jo’burg and the surrounds… and lucky. What happened in Zim was state sponsored and sanctioned.

Yep. Some voting demographics are not all that into details.

Because it wasn't just a photo of DRC, but a photo of the whole article. The article discusses South Africa and DRC(PRC in the article).
The media are taking that one photo and trying to claim Trump put up a fake picture. They aren't even mentioning the site or linking the article.

Trump should call out his Israeli handlers for giving him the wrong article and embarrassing himself. They need to get sacked. What a joke.

A genocide is not required as a matter of law to be granted asylum in the U.S.

The law states that to establish refugee status, only need to prove "that RACE, religion, nationality, membership in a particular social group, or political opinion was or will be at least one central REASON FOR PERSECUTING the applicant."

No genocide is required.
