A big one is that they can foster stronger communities by promoting trust between immigrants and local law enforcement, leading to safer neighborhoods and increased cooperation in addressing crime. Also, they allow immigrants access essential services like healthcare and education without fear of deportation. I know that sounds like something you all think we should cut off but i would rather the undocumented in this country be getting an education and healthcare while here, than not.

As it turns out, sanctuary cities are only really sanctuaries for criminals. These illegal alien criminals prey on other illegal aliens. Rape them. Murder them. Seems as if the idea of them "leading to safer neighborhoods" is a huge fallacy.

Have you lived in a sanctuary city? I live in Boston. It’s an amazing city. I’ve never been robbed/raped or murdered.

I hope you have real world experience of century city and are not just relying on Fox News.

Boston had minimal diversity to begin with, so calling it a sanctuary city was always a reach.

If your standard for quality of life is not getting robbed/raped or murdered, you've got some issues.

That was always the job of the Feds. Now, they’re finding a way to do it since some states and cities aren’t interested in being forced to do their job for them.

I know the Constitution is a boring read, but it’s ridiculous that the average American doesn’t seem to understand what’s a fed power vs a state power. There is a whole world of information accessible to us, and it has only made people dumber.

The sanctuary states have some of the lowest crime rates and highest education and incomes in the country. Nobody needs to concern themselves with what these states are doing.

Hmmm...now what could possibly be the difference betwen the states you mentioned? Let's start by comparing Vermont and Connecticut to any of the states in the second group.

Apart from blue vs red, what?

DP... my standard in addition to not getting robbed or murdered is livability, a city that has a lot to offer, like music and the arts, museums, good mass transit system and so on, That's all stuff that most red cities suck at.

New Jersey, New York, Massachusetts all have large immigrant populations. Texas and California have borders easy for South Americans to cross so their problem is way too many crossing and staying .

Massachusetts has immigrants from Brazil mostly, then El Salvador, Guatemala, India and China.

Vermont borders Canada and about 5% of their population of immigrants are not documented. Considering hardly anyone lives in Vermont, that’s a lot. They come from Canada, Nepal, Jamaica, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Connecticut, a small country, has about 100,000 undocumented immigrants.

Neither does the president or puppy killer and head of Homeland Security, Kristi with an I. She could not define Habeas Corpus correctly, something that would be a given for anyone in her position before Trump.

This is why Kamala lost. The left keeps selling voters things they don't want. The number of people who want the US to host foreign criminals is vanishingly small. Basically no one except far left activists sees "we must allow criminals into the country and then house them in our prisons" as a top priority, much less as remotely desirable.

Aw, cute. Boston isn’t a real city and your train system is a total mess. My daughter can’t complain enough about the red line.
