The sanctuary states are …. Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Washington. These states are the most federally dependent on the federal government … Alaska, Kentucky, West Virginia, Mississippi, South Carolina, New Mexico, Louisiana, Arizona, Indiana, Alabama The sanctuary states have some of the lowest crime rates and highest education and incomes in the country. Nobody needs to concern themselves with what these states are doing.
Hmmm...now what could possibly be the difference betwen the states you mentioned? Let's start by comparing Vermont and Connecticut to any of the states in the second group.
New Jersey, New York, Massachusetts all have large immigrant populations. Texas and California have borders easy for South Americans to cross so their problem is way too many crossing and staying . Massachusetts has immigrants from Brazil mostly, then El Salvador, Guatemala, India and China. Vermont borders Canada and about 5% of their population of immigrants are not documented. Considering hardly anyone lives in Vermont, that’s a lot. They come from Canada, Nepal, Jamaica, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Connecticut, a small country, has about 100,000 undocumented immigrants.
