+1 Waldorf also goes through grade 12. Many people don’t know that. |
WES is really heavy on boys in the middle ES grades, so if looking for spots for girls, that could be an easier admit…. |
+1 WWS is fantastic and could be a very good fit for some SSFS students. |
Pre-K-12: Washington Waldorf
For Pre-K-8s: Sheridan, Green Acres, Norwood 6-12: Field and Burke |
+1 for Washington Waldorf School! Not enough people know about it, and I think families attracted to SSFS would find a lot to appreciate at WWS. They still have space in the high school (and some grades) for students who are a good fit and want a holistic, rigorous and socially conscious education! |
We are a very happy Christ Episcopal School family…K-8…check them out 🙂 |
A few years ago Field took in new upperclassmen for my DCs class. Might still? |

St Bernadette is a small school with a great community feel. Very welcoming and probably a reasonable commute for families at SSFS. They are full next year for pre-k, 4th, and 7th but maybe there is some wiggle room. |

+1 I had a friend who got her daughter into WES in September a few years ago because public was going to badly. |
Maybe St. John's Catholic Prep in Buckeystown?

To the Washington Waldorf sock-puppeteer: It’s coming off a little desperate. |
Current rising 11th SSFS family here. We are heartbroken but so thankful for this kind thread 🙏🏼 |
For anyone looking for a welcoming community for kids who are gender non-conforming:
Field (6-12) Burke (6-12) Green Acres (Pk-8) Absolutely are welcoming and foster a beautiful environment for kids to be themselves in any form that may take, whether the kids are out or stealth or figuring things out. |
+ Lowell PK-8 to this list |
