Maga requires proof via middle school poster board form. I don’t have time for that. “A group of researchers from the University of Missouri, Georgia Institute of Technology, and Harvard University has proved the successful use of a novel Type 1 diabetes treatment. Their method includes transferring insulin-producing pancreas cells, known as pancreatic islets, from a donor to a recipient without the need for long-term immunosuppressive medicines.” https://scitechdaily.com/harvard-scientists-have-developed-a-revolutionary-new-treatment-for-diabetes/ Harvard has been significantly involved in advancements related to insulin, kidney transplants, and gene therapies, though not directly involved in the discovery of insulin itself. Joseph Murray, an emeritus professor of surgery at Harvard Medical School, is credited with performing the first successful human kidney transplant. |
Are you really that naive to thibj that we can compete with a country that has 4x the population size without importing talent. China has around 300 million people with an IQ of 115+, we only have 56 million people with 115+ IQs. China also has a much proportion of college grads obtaining STEM degrees. You need a minimum IQ of around 130 to be capable of completing a organic chemistry doctorate or biophysics doctorate. Most of the highly successful researchers at elite schools in these STEM fields have an IQ of 145+. There frankly aren't enough people in the US to stay competitive with a country that has 4x the population. IQ is mostly genetic and environment cannot make someone with a low genetic propensity for IQ a genius. |

You haven't followed the news. Maybe you try using Google. |
The point is that the govt of the US - boasting how Democratic it is - should be funding all R&D out of major educational institutions esp the likes of Ivy League schools where the caliber of brainpower is higher than most.
The point is not how productive or effective Harvard is in creating x number of things but that it employs the process of scientific research because it does impact, it does effect, it does ultimately result in improvements and developments that prove useful for all of us. This is how science works! Kinda like - just because you go to a top private school of uber smart and talented leaders, you may not become one yourself, but it does make you better and it makes you have a greater chance of shaping out to be one yourself because that's your environment. It's all good. None of it is bad. To cut funding for higher ed research on any front is senseless. This is science and the process of studying and developing should not be shut down ever. It's not about having a private grant but about the government who represents all citizens of our country contributing to this cause. This is pretty much why I've given up completely on this country. That we could even be at his level - have a situation where people would elect this psycho weirdo idiot and approve of his entire administration - this is a testament to something in our culture and society being broken beyond repair. We can shout about how great US wants to be or was but we are no longer and will not be moving forward. It's disgusting that people would not support government funded research/science in their own country. |
This is a transformative opportunity to shift R&D money from top privates to top publics permanently and improve public education with public funds.
Harvards can do whatever they want with their own billions. |
They cut that funding too. |
Can you share your feel-good drugs with the rest of us who are paying attention? |
????? Harvard has been a world leader in political science studies for a hundred years. You're an idiot. Trump just doesn't want political scientists explaining to Americans how stupid they are for thinking people as old as he and his crony Biden should be the most powerful person in the world. |
I agree! His dad bought a seat at Penn for Trump as a transfer loser from Fordham. Harvard said no. |
And why would it take federal money when it has so much? I’ve never understood this. Taking federal money comes with strings. |
+1 I'd rather see my tax dollars go elsewhere for research. |
LOL. Trump cut federal funding for all kinds of research, including on cancer and the environment. |
^^ through federal agencies |
Wow. So, this is how democracy does in darkness. Criticism of only one party is allowed. Proof that goose steppers also vote blue and wear blue. |
