Arsonists set fire to Josh Shapiro’s PA Governor mansion

Shapiro himself made some comments about nothing and nobody stopping his family from celebrating Passover. I seriously doubt this mentally ill individual even knew it was Passover. On X randos are ascribing all sorts of motives to this guy.

Anyone who breaks into a governor's mansion that is being guarded by state troopers and sets it on fire with people inside is not right in the head. Period.

Most people don’t know what Passover is or when it is, nor do they care.

How can you possibly know this? And even if true, maybe he was scoping at an attempt there too.

Leaked from a law enforcement source

This is incredibly creepy.

The idea that this guy is a principled violent leftist doesn’t seem real, no matter the internet campaign that has clearly already launched.

What on earth is a “principled violent leftist”? Someone whose terrorism you are okay with because they agree with you politically?

I hope the moderators do more going forward to get rid of trolls ^. The board is worse now than in 2017.

Yes, agree. Way more violent leftist commies here now. Can’t have an actual discussion anymore.

I’m absolutely shocked that it is a crazy right wing MAGA nut that tried to burn down a house full of kids… that was a plot twist I truly didn’t see coming.

He looks COMPLETELY MAGA for sure!

Wait - are we thinking maybe he is Nation of Islam / a Louis Farrakhan supporter ?

He’s obviously mentally ill. Like, really mentally ill. You can see it in his eyes as well as his behavior.

I saw an article that says he has a PO Box. Not an actual home address. I bet he’s homeless or bounces around a lot.

While his political rantings skew conservative/anti-liberal, please realize they are nothing more than the rantings of a pervasively mentally ill person.

This has nothing to do with race, age, religion, politics, etc. It’s mental illness and lack of a system to proactively deal with such people.

Stop making everything political. Stop making everything racial. Geez.

+100. The attempts to fit narratives—on both sides—is stunning. Mentally ill people doing this sort of thing will come up with all sorts of reasons to justify their deed.

And yet, the GOP continues to cut social services for the mentally ill.

NP. As someone who lives in California, at this point I believe those services have done far more harm than good.

San Francisco has finally wrested control from the progressives. Moderates are now in charge there. And they are taking on the homeless industrial complex. That means that the city is getting safer, finally. Crime is down.

I don’t think these services helped people in California overall. I think they harm people.

before the services were cut, the mentally ill were housed in asylums, completely separated from the public. Reagan closed ALL of the asylums except the one at St Elizabeths, where ironically, John Hinkley spent most of his life until relatively recently. The mentally ill were left on their own and created the very encampments that you are complaining about, which generally didn't exist until the mid-1980s.

And you think "conservative" DCUM type folks, attorneys, judges, and psychiatrists are the ones fighting hard to keep people out of mental hoslitals, group hones, and forced hospitalization? Nope.

The GOP has been gutting social services for the mentally ill since Reagan. What are you trying to say?

I am saying that Democrats and liberals have fought tooth and nail against forced hospitalization and group homes for the seriously mentally ill. Their decisions abd rulings allow these people to be freely walking around.

Okay. But we are now in 2025, not the mid-1980s.

You do your homework. I'm in the mental health field evaluating and working with special needs children and young adults. I'm well aware of the laws. Reagan by no means did that by himsrlf.

Republicana fought tooth and nail against caring for sick people instead of torturing them.

Apparently doesn't care if actual American Jewish people are burned to death by a MAGA. Or just an American family.

Republicans don't care and this is their endgame.
