I’m wondering how old your kids are. My teens hate the smell of weed and don’t use it but it’s a major problem in the public high schools because the bathrooms have become de facto smoking lounges. I’m basically a live and let live person but the problem is that a lot of the pro weed people are not respectful about how/where they use it. |
One in college one in high school. My kids attend/ed private schools, so actually smoking on school grounds wasn’t an issue. I see the high school kids in my neighborhood smoking during lunch breaks and after school, but that’s at least outside. |

It’s not pearl clutching to HATE the smell and be concerned that people are driving high.
|
But people drive drunk all the time and that's fine, so why the focus on marijuana? |
I honestly feel this way abut cigarette smokers. If you smoke anything, the smell lingers on your breath, clothes, skin and hair. It overpowers a room or lingers behind in the room when the person leaves. Kissing a cigarette smoker is like licking an ashtray. Blech. And, yet, that too is legal. The thing I can’t stand is the smell of marijuana that seems to linger in the air even outside and for blocks at a time. |
DP. No one has said driving drunk is fine. It’s absolutely not. What’s wrong with you?! That’s a ridiculous response. Maybe give the weed a rest. |
You being annoyed by the smell of marijuana is not a public safety crisis. Imagine if the pear clutchers of DCUM about legal MJ put the time they spent whining here to positive use in their communities. You could change lives! Instead you whine and complain here about something you'll never change. Get bent. |

There's lots of things in civilized societies we HATE that we have to deal with. This is one of them. |
|
I mean, someone in my office reeks so badly of tobacco that you can smell it in the elevator when he's no longer in it. I'm old enough to remember when people were actively smoking just about everywhere inside.
So as long as they aren't actually smoking it, it's miles better than what we experienced as kids. |
Civilized societies don't have pot clouds. |
Maybe pot heads should put down the spliff and do something positive instead of destroying the community. |
Yes, but they were not obviously high while driving and taking care of young kids. I can’t imagine what life will be like for these young kids raised by parents who are messed up all the time in addition to them being exposed to the smoke all the time. My heart breaks. |
| Why are people still smoking weed when edibles are a thing? |
This is a great question. My guess is because edibles take up to two hours to kick in. But then, if they’re getting high all the time they should be able to anticipate when they’ll want it. |
