Is your Federal agency getting Good Friday off?

Of course, which is lovely. And they can use annual leave to take off for it, since it isn't a federal holiday.

OMG this is not something to be worrying about right now

Sure Trump will allow that.

We've gotten an early release a few times on good friday but not very often. I've already taken the day off so if we do get a couple hours I won't be able to use it which stinks.

Rather than pretend to work on Fridays they should just give them all off every Friday.

NP, well, Biden gave fed employees Christmas Eve off last year with relatively short notice. But I can’t imagine this admin giving extra holidays. They are probably trying to figure out which holidays to remove.

One day voting should be a holiday, don’t you think?

What does it say? What is the reasoning? To go to services at church?

Early Release for Easter and Passover HUD Staff,

On behalf of Secretary Scott Turner, I’m excited to announce there will be a four-hour early release on Friday, April 18, 2025 in recognition of Easter and Passover this weekend.

Secretary Turner encourages our HUD workforce to reflect with family and friends as they break bread and celebrate the gift of freedom.

America’s founding fathers proclaimed that all men are endowed by their creator with the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness — this declaration rang true as the Jews fled Egypt and found freedom in the Holy Land, and it rang true once again when Jesus broke bread and drank wine with his disciples showing that sacrifice can truly change the world.

We go into this holy weekend with freedoms that the world has never known, and I hope that everyone at HUD takes a moment to recognize what a privilege it is to live in a country that puts her citizens first.

Please see the attached Staff Bulletin with important information on time keeping and instructions for early dismissal. Please note, this early release allows employees to end their workday four hours prior to the end of their scheduled tour of duty.

Thank you for your service and God Bless, Andrew Hughes Chief of Staff

Ugh, is this learned behavior or were you born this way? Are you that gullible?

lol I guess they missed that Passover started the previous weekend and outside of super religious Jews who don’t work the first two or last two days, the really big prep is for the first two night Seders. I could’ve used last Friday off to prep for my Seder guests Saturday night. Oh wait I used my own leave like I always do …

Using the Ben's Kosher Delli App only takes a minute or two to prep.

Actually they are now closed all of Passover Week. But I went to my friends Seder at his parents two bedroom Condo in HS when they were open for Passover. We were sitting there, no food at all, me getting curious when is she going to make dinner. Then door bell rings, Ben comes in, they have the plates, knifes, forks everything. They set it on Dining Room table. She then says come in we do prayer, we eat, then she goes dump everything in the bag and go to thrash shoot outside her Condo door and down it went. And that was it.

Was a joke. They only had one kid, my friend and only four of us there. My Mom would do xmas dinner for 30-40 people all her self. This felt like takeout chinese food
