Is your Federal agency getting Good Friday off?

Anonymous
Never happened for me either until this year.

No. Best we could hope for is putting off the RIFs until after Easter. But they are not so kind.

Which agencies? It’s weird you aren’t saying.

In the current climate, people want to remain under the radar.

NP, well, Biden gave fed employees Christmas Eve off last year with relatively short notice. But I can’t imagine this admin giving extra holidays. They are probably trying to figure out which holidays to remove.

I was wondering during if they were going to remove Juneteenth.

Would need for Congress to do it.

It was EEOC. There’s a Politico story about it. Not sure why PP needed to be so secretive when the email went to the entire agency.

Troll. Never. Only Congress can grant a Federal holiday.

You laugh, but the chair of my agency just gave us the 18th off

And for what it’s worth the email states that the chair plans to spend the day observing Good Friday

Definitely happening for the first time at my agency and not the EEOC. Bet the poster above is where I am and if not this is happening the same way in several places. Not a troll.

We don’t get religious holidays off, other than Christmas because it’s celebrated secularly too.
