DP. I don’t get it. So because 2 teachers are friends, they’ll think it’s fun to give students identical grades? What’s the point? I’m a teacher and yes, I’m close to other teachers. I can count on one hand how often I’ve discussed a student’s grade with my “teacher BFF,” and I’ve been teaching 20 years. And the very few times I’ve done that, it was to get her professional opinion. |
Or.... how about it could influence borderline grades? |
What would that even look like? |

We don't do that. We're not children. You guys despise teachers so much, it's bizarre. |
That was me. I still don’t understand what that would look like. Explain to me why/how/for what reason this would influence borderline grades. |
Can you explain why all teachers have access to info? Then maybe someone can explain to you about teachers' grading styles. |
I’ve already explained above why it’s beneficial for the student. I’ve been able to track whether a student’s struggle is only in my content or with my teaching as opposed to an across-the-board concern. This has led to MANY insights that have helped many students, who otherwise would be struggling in general without any oversight or help. Since you appear to have insight into grading styles that I don’t have as a teacher with over 20 years of experience, why don’t you fill me in on what you know. |
I actually JUST came on here to ask something similar and would love to hear more insight. My neighbor is a teacher. Can he look up my son's grades from a DIFFERENT high school? So say he teaches at Wheaton and my kid attends Kennedy. Do teachers have access to the grades of any MCPS student or just ones at their own school? |
Just their own |
Conflicting info up-discussion |
Where did it say teachers can see other schools grades and info? |
I'm the PP with the attendance secretary family member who told me she looked up her friend's kid's grades and attendance from other schools. I don't know if it's true because that person is a liar about everything. I would also like confirmation. |
. Well I don't know about administrative secretaries, since they may have a hand in enrolling new students. But I'm a teacher and I'm on Synergy right now. I can't change the school I am viewing it is preset and locked. I can't see my colleagues gradebooks in the same building either. I can see my students in my attendance view, when they have been absent in a previous period, I can tell. That's about it. |
Different staff members can have varying levels of access depending on what they need to know. I'm a teacher and can only see students who attend my school and on my class roster. |
