Giving myself one last month before GLP-1- See you April 30 for the verdict

This is a great way to set yourself up for osteoporosis in your later years.

If you have the money for drugs, you have the money to hire a trainer. Not to show you what to do (since you day you already know), but to impose discipline. I lift with a trainer 2x per week not because I couldn't lift on my own at this point but because I know, after living with myself for 55 years, that I WON'T lift on my own. So I pay someone to schedule time with me, and since I don't want to be rude, I show up and lift. Best thing I've ever done for myself (and I feel extremely lucky to be able to afford it).

I did the same as this PP… Pay a trainer to lift weights twice a week. Then I do it one more time at home one time a week, but at least I know I get too really good sessions. At this point in life, lifting is not optional and the only way I knew I could do it was with a trainer.

To the OP… You may not even actually need to lose fat, just gain muscle, and your stats will shift. Work out with heavyweights and need as much protein and fiber as you can. The rest will take care of itself.

What you need to do is relatively easy relative to the many people who have true weight issues.

I do not need your concern (include massive eye roll)

I don’t want this sh*t to take over.

This has to be a troll. I am 5’7”, 118lbs with a very small frame and I’m skinny. People comment on how slender I am. If I lost 10lbs I’d look very sickly. OP, on the off chance you’re not trolling, you have an eating disorder.

🤷‍♀️ What do you want me to say. I don’t look sickly and I don’t have an eating disorder but no one wants to take me at my word. Looks like you all know my body better than me.

In the meantime. I don’t know if you opened the news but this country is going completely insane. Let’s keep that depressing perspective. Me wanting to look better in my summer dress does not warrant your collective rage.

What about channeling that on April 5th at the DC protest ? Trying to make this thread worth my time ..

Thanks PP for your advice and for not including an insult in your comment. I appreciate it.

You are the one who noted this is the diet and fitness forum. For a person who came here with some ill considered ideas, you sure are defensive.

April 5th, come with your rage against people you disagree with. It is great calorie burning exercise too ! Or bring love and compassion to make the world a better place. Whichever.

Don’t bring your disordered thinking or hyperbole. It absolutely does not make the world a better place.

OP - I am with you here. I am using tirzepatide at the lowest dose with great results. Both weight wise and psychologically. I have lost 40 pounds and I am close to my goal weight and BMI (which is just a hair above underweight). No side effects, no issues. I have been on it for 5 months. But during that time I have also instituted exercise and weight lifting. So while I have been losing fat and muscle, I have also been working on building muscle. I plan to stop the meds soon and I don’t think I will regain because this has shown me exactly how much I need to eat and how to maintain.

Where are you getting yours?

You don’t have a weight loss problem, you have a strength problem. GLP and/or dieting won’t do anything. You need to start a strength training routine and increase your protein intake to achieve the goals you set in your OP. This will take discipline.

Agree with other PPs. You need to work on building muscle, which WILL change how you look, and the time scale is more than a month.

OP here, knowing my body I think I need both. And that’s what I am working on. Points well taken on protein and strength training, that’s part of my plan. I will come back in a month with what I was able to achieve in that timeframe
