Yes, I am 100% with you. And also, (new poster here) what you outlined (paying attention to insulin and curbing sugar cravings which ends up naturally curbing your appetite and weight gain) has worked VERY well for me too |
Wut? I’m the size 6. I don’t cut out food groups. I am not starving or even hungry. I have never reported anyone or a post. I’m totally happy with my choice and also totally happy if that isn’t your choice. If my experience isn’t helpful to you, definitely feel free to ignore it. |
I reported posts that insulted posters size. The posts I reported were indeed rude and toxic. Seeing as they were deleted, it’s likely Jeff agreed. |
I am! I did not report anyone posts. My size makes me happy. You may disagree or have diff size. All good with me. |
I am perimenopausal. Get your thyroid hormones checked if you haven’t already. |
Listen I don’t catalog other people’s posts. But I reported rude stuff. If your posts wasn’t rude then I wouldn’t have reported and Jeff wouldn’t have deleted it. Someone was absolutely being an AH. |
This! I'm 49 and it starts really hitting me- the weight gain. Only a year ago, I was 115 lbs and could easily go to 110 lbs with some calorie restriction. Now, I'm 120 lbs at 5'4" and literally cannot lose weight. At 45, I was still skinny, like 108 lbs. The struggle is real ladies. |
This one does! I'm really not fat. I eat my first meal at 6 am and my last meal at 8 pm thanks to RTO mandates. Often with a 20 mile uphill bike ride between work and dinner. There is no way I'm getting through my day without snacks. Sorry if this is gross. I don't feel the need to have a sub-19 BMI as a 50-something woman like the PP who feels huge at my size (5"4 and under 120) |
PP, I usually eat a later breakfast around 11 but will drink 2 cups of coffee with half and half in the morning. Does this mess up the no snacking rule? Should I have coffee with breakfast? Along those lines, if I’m used to snacking on fruit, yogurt, etc., should I start having those with my meals instead of between meals? |
Yep! Caffeine causes a rise in insulin. Just water between meals. No food, coffee, juice. Just water. Once I stopped grazing between meals, I realized that I had been eating and drinking all day. I love the freedom now— I eat only when it’s mealtime. And I love my new energy levels and clothing size. |
120 is still slim and v healthy for your height. 108 was likely underweight. I don’t know who these people are who think they’re going to stay their high school weight their whole lives. |
Thanks. I’m going to try this out, though not having snack breaks to look forward to is going to be hard! |
108 / 5’4” is an 18.5 BMI and is not underweight. And regarding who are the people who think they’re going to stay at the same weight all their life : count me in. And my mom. And my grandma. And yes for them it was on purpose in addition to good genes. They did (are still for my mom) aim to control their weight gain all their lives and had a very balanced and happy relationship to food. My grandma died at 96 and it was only in the last 15 years that she gained 10 pounds, as a bit of cushion is better when you get to that point. |
Good luck. The first two days were the hardest for me. I just kept reminding myself that my French friends never snack. Getting enough protein is during the meal is the key! At least 6 ounces, and that amount of veggies too. Have your coffee then. See how that goes for a week or two. I was very pleasantly surprised at the results after 2 weeks for me. |
And I'm a vegetarian and think everything you'd "rather" eat is unhealthy and cruel. |
