You seem to be saying that an election resulting in an outcome you didn’t want is tantamount to the dismantling of democracy. Interesting.

So tired of your doublespeak

Trump is dismantling democracy

We live in a city where the elected officials are so bad, DC voters approved a referendum on ranked choice voting and the council just said "lol, no" and most people who live here supported a candidate that didn't get a single primary vote. But it's Trump that's a threat to democracy...

Uh yes

Tough for you to think of the larger picture?

The bigger picture being there isn't a lot of democracy to save out there, as most people only care for it when it gets them what they want.

You mean the ability to be a Nazi and proud?

^This nonsense is how Democrats keep alienating their own. #walkaway

Oh, you hurt me so bad

If you’re a Nazi, please walk away from me

You win.

Canadian living in Canada, used to live in the US. What are you referring to? The freezing of bank accounts of Poor Boys led 24/7 honking with their trucks in Ottawa? That was no peaceful protest, I lean left but something had to be done and guns are illegal in Canada except for hunting in the woods so I don’t know what else could have been done.

Maybe lost a 1/10th of a point due to that. Canada ranked #13 in 2024. Scores out of 10. For context, countries like North Korea score around 1.5.

I think USA is ranked #27 and I believe it will continue to fall in 2025. I’d anyone well above US ranking can point with at least one finger and maybe even two fingers.

#1 – Norway – 9.81
#2 – New Zealand – 9.61
#3 – Iceland – 9.45
#4 – Sweden – 9.39
#5 – Finland – 9.30
#6 – Denmark – 9.28
#7 – Ireland – 9.19
#8 – Switzerland – 9.14
#9 – Netherlands – 9.00
#10 – Taiwan – 8.92
#11 – Luxembourg – 8.81
#12 – Germany – 8.80
#13 – Canada – 8.69
#14 – Australia – 8.66
#15 - Uruguay – 8.66

It's ok when we do it. No one likes democracy, they just want their flavor of authoritarianism to win.

No, I see it more like that ethics problem of whether it’s okay for the wife’s husband to steal a drug so she doesn’t die.

Stealing is wrong is the position that 6-10 year olds take.

Those with more advanced cognitive skills see that questions about the right thing to do it isn’t so black and white.

I don’t see that it’s about okay if Canada does it, but not okay if US does it, at all. It isn’t about US versus them at all.

Anyway, best of luck to you.

This is an example not of how adults use advanced cognitive skills in a good way, but how they become so adept at using them to rationalize all kinds of bad and mostly selfish behavior. Whatever.

I think you actually can argue he's more in tune with democracy than most others. People voted for change and he's delivering change. The people upset are upset because he's doing what people voted for.

This thread and those like it are basically people venting that people are actually getting what they want instead of being blocked by bureaucratic hurdles. Leaving people like you to essentially argue that giving people what they want and fixing problems is bad. Not exactly the winning argument for democracy you think it is.

Yet, he is causing bigger problems for everyone

Too bad no one listened and don’t care to even try to understand.

I’m just sitting over here watching it burn and laughing at the FAFO idiots. They made their own bed.

This is not DEMOCRACY

And if he thinks he can have his way with the tax dollars of those that don't support him he has another thing coming

- buddying up with Russia and alienating our allies

- destroying our economy

- hiring two bit wannabe dictator Musk who can't even run a successful company of his own with our being propped up to "overhaul" our government with his techno teens

- defrauding the elderly and veterans

- dismantling US intellectual supremacy ( you know MAGA doesn't know crap about this)

People voted for Trump 1.0, not this dictator. Let's see if they actually get democracy ( the people's voice) before Trump institutes the law that you can't criticize him

And again, you are ridiculous

Ethics and morality are definitely complex topics.

No, he took advantage of democracy to destroy it. The potential for that to happen has always existed, but no had been low enough to do that until now.
