Mere YImBYs love Friendson and Glass. |
you're really pathetic for looking up his family members in case search. |
Very simple. I will vote for the most moderate and reasonable candidate in the primaries. If that candidate does not win, I will vote Republican. MoCo needs a reality check, quickly. |
Of those already in the race, or almost certain to be....that means you vote for Glass. |
Sounds good to me! |
Where can we find the list of candidates for executive/council? I’d love to learn more about individuals officially running against the incumbents. |
We are not in the filing window. |
Guessing that the poster know them personally and already knew whatever it is. |
I take back everything I said. After the Greenwood meeting I now feel she is not pro-community. She said she’s “highly employable” and dismissed valid community concerns. I should have remained skeptical. |
Jawando today: We’re entering a tough budget season, working to fund education, transportation, public safety, and other non-negotiables. But a newly proposed bill would give corporate developers in our county a 25-year tax holiday worth $2.6 BILLION if they convert commercial buildings into residential ones, jeopardizing our ability to fund those essential services for decades to come. We need real affordable housing solutions, not just blank checks. #MontgomeryCounty #AffordableHousing |
lol Someone needs to educate the county council on the fact that developers are not the little guy. They always win. They don’t need ridiculously oversized subsidies. We have rentals. We have housing. If they are trying to help the homeless, then that’s a very targeted approach for a select group of housing projects—it’s not a tax break writ large across the board. Given the dramatic decline in the county’s tax base, I don’t think we really should prioritize affordable housing that will attract more low-income people. Focus on targeted projects and leave the bulk of development to market rate—and tax the fancypants developers just like everybody else. |
No one can do what you are wanting to happen at Greenwood. Maybe you should run for office. |
