They are allowing the new families to tour the new lower school at the admitted students event this week. |
Almost 60K for a public school you pay for...you all are out of you minds.
meh college admissions. Exclude minorities, legacies and athletes and you dont have anything. |
Just got acceptance. Very excited to go on the tour. From the outside the building looks very nice. Glad they offer the tour. Thinking we will accept offer after tour. |
Stop relying on "legacy" admissions, be it parents, siblings, etc. |
Huh. We have just been accepted into the ninth grade, and are looking at many schools. We have quizzed the schools about their college matriculations, and most of them are reticent ... at best. Bullis was the only school that was transparent, and when we looked at the lists which are freely available by the specific year (not just putting many years together in order to look good) on their website, we can see why. It seems this troll is rehashing tired tropes about a school that has changed significantly. We may or may not accept, and will wait to see what we hear from the K-12 privates that have not yet released decisions, but it's a serious option. https://www.bullis.org/academics/college-counseling/college-matriculation And the update on their website from ED, EA, etc. https://www.bullis.org/about/welcome/letter/~board/bullis/post/bullis-community-update-12-19-2024 |
Thank you for this. I hadn't seen these links on the Bullis website. I'm now scanning the websites of the schools we have applied to. (Didn't apply to Bullis but perhaps that was an oversight- these are excellent lists.) |
Legacies? I have no kid at Bullis nor have we applied. But just read the thread and there were tons of sibling rejections. So…. Doesn’t seem like they’re building on legacies at all. |
Alums definitely have a leg up with admission. We heard that there are now 46 alums with kids at the school. I know the school is large, but this seems like a high percentage. I wonder about Prep, Landon, Holton, etc |
This is really such an absurd comment - and people here make it about SJC too which is also absurd. The campuses of these schools alone differentiate them from public schools - even here where the public schools are incredible. Add in the course offerings, athletics, uniforms, food options, class sizes, etc and they are not even close to comparable to public schools. |
This is nonsense. No Catholic school told you that you weren't welcome as a mixed family. Lots of kids of different faiths and races attend Catholic schools. They just don't do all the DEI stuff and focus on teaching. |
This was not our experience at all this year. I never tried calling, but emails were always responded to within 1-2 days. |
Why do you feel the need to post this type of response? What in your personality says it's okay? Your post is completely reflective of you and not the school. |
Same, they were very good with response time. |
Buĺlis' policy is to give siblings no admissions preference. |
It’s very much a construction zone. It’s not going to be done until the summer. How is viewing a construction project going to help your decision? |
