Surprised with sibling rejections and so many WL. Even with full pay current family=possible donors and great stats student? What do they look at, do they prefer K-8 feeder schools if any? |
My k-8 grade kid was waitlisted.... |
+1 |
What is going on with Bullis admissions this year? Our child applied last year, so I know that Matt T left and that there is a new Director of Admissions. Curious to know if there was a change in course. |
I think there were a lot more applications. And I have no idea but I think I heard that they over enrolled a bit for the current 9th grade class and they wanted to make the incoming classes a smaller size but I’m not sure. |
how many kids in Bullis classes? |
Bullis admissions' has been on this trajectory since Covid. They over enrolled in the current 9th and 10th grade classes (to my annoyance) because they didn't expect so many people to enroll. Although I suppose if my DS hadn't been accepted I'd be more even more angry. |
Is this to say that their waitlist does not move? Anyone ever get off their wl in the last couple years? |
And they didn't give you a courtesy heads up? How uncouth. |
Because it’s such a childish response. “Sorry, we aren’t accepting your child even though their sibling already goes here.” “Fine, you suck anyway!” Really? Just dumb. |
For those that got in, did you get a “box?”
My DD got in and so did her friend. Friend got a box, DD didn’t. Not that we need more crap in our house… |
Loved the Bullis box last year! It had a lot of great Bullis swag: hat, socks, string backpack, water bottle. Let us know what is in it when it arrives.
Congratulations to your daughter. |
Bullis is one of the few non religious coed schools in the county. We need more privates. More parents are going toward private given the state of mcps. |
It was obvious during the admissions process that Bullis was too overwhelmed with applications given their current staffing and/or the school is in such high demand that they feel they can basically ignore applicants and still fill a class. Never once did anyone pick up the phone in the admissions office or return our voicemails. Emails regarding scheduling tours and interviews took 10 days to get a response. If that's a preview of what going there would be like, be glad you aren't paying huge money for that kind of experience. |
Admissions experience is usually completely separate from the student experience. I agree that admissions seemed overwhelmed. |
