Who lives in Vienna?

Signed, someone who is priced out of McClean

Everyone I know there are dual-career feds. They have bigger houses/more land than an Arlington townhouse and didn’t want to live in Herndon, Sterling, or Ashburn. It’s a pretty decent main drag that still has non-chain stores. Live just outside the zone in the other part so you don’t have to pay the additional taxes.

We lived in Vienna and now live in Mclean.

Work in DC, so McLean is more convenient.

Yes, Vienna cheaper. It is not cheap. New builds are 2.5 mil plus. They were 1.4 mil when we are there in 2005. Schools are good. Town is more family friendly. Bike trial, community center, town events like the parade. Also lots of new food places. Many young professionals. Some older people who moved to Vienna in the 70’s and 80’s. Upscale town.

McLean, more affluent families. Older crowd. Less to do for families and town center has less food options. We like it as our kids go to school at Potomac. Mclean has some more exclusive neighborhoods.

But if you have young kids, Vienna is the more fun town to raise them in.

I like Vienna but not builder done cookie cutter new builds. I know they go for $2.5M but yikes, they are ugly. You can get your own custom made home in that price.

I never will understand the level of discussion Vienna occasions on here.

There’s a lot of Trump supporters. I drove down Beulah one day and saw huge signs all over peoples yards.

There is one big house with a Trump sign on Beulah. I live nearby. That is the only trump sign I have seen anywhere in the neighborhood.

PP your simple minded generalization is astounding

McLean

Believe or not, not everyone wants to live in McLean. We could afford it and looked there but Vienna seemed much more appealing and a better community. We could have bought anywhere in the DMV but wanted more land and got it.

Yes I know which one you’re talking about. They have a ton of Christmas lights. Maybe you haven’t been looking closely when you drive by. They’re all over the other new builds. Same with on Towson and old courthouse.

NP, all of Vienna and all of McLean aren’t the same. It varies neighborhood to neighborhood. Even street to street. The generalization across multiple zip codes is meaningless

It tends to attract the nouveau riche and cliquey social climbers.

On a more positive side, it's safe, errands and children's activities are within 2-3 miles so it's convenient.

Then you don't really live here. I live right around the corner off of Trap. That was definitely not the only house with a Trump sign around here. There were a lot of them, perhaps even more than Harris signs. DP

? A lot of trump supporters in Vienna, I would say more than the number of signs. Town of Vienna and our neighbors are mixed. Some loser supports and some trump.
