The founding fathers always envisioned Canada as part of the US, and even tried to make it happen under the Paris Treaty. We'd just be fulfilling our manifest destiny.

Don't be silly. It would be a state like any other. We'd have a delightful, historic French city (Quebec), a technology powerhouse (Toronto), and vast stores of crude oil. Niagara Falls would be instantly improved. Everyone can see this is superior to the current situation. Canada is a failed nation but would be an incredible state.
