Trump began negotiations to buy it shortly after. He closed the deal in 1985, purchasing it for a reported $8 million — $5 million for the property and $3 million for Post's furnishings.


Not a bad deal considering it was built over four years in the early 1920s at an estimated cost of $7 million, which is about $90 million today, according to Smithsonian Magazine.

Right. Marjorie Merriweather Post built Mar-a-Lago and gave it to the National Park Service on the hopes that it would become the Winter White House. Are you seriously so dense that you weren’t aware of that?

The park service declined because upkeep was too expensive. New, the taxpayer, will have to foot the bill for Trump. He screws the entire population every day.

I was laughing out loud at some YouTube comments from Canadians about the tariffs, how Americans will shop in Canada, and how Canadian prices will go down. As someone who lived in Canada until a few months ago, that is so out of touch. Prices of everything in Canada are through the roof. They are ordering dairy farmers to throw away thousands of gallons of milk to keep the prices up, to help the farmers, says the Canadian gov.
They have a 14 percent tax on everything and think the surplus from not exporting to the U.S. will decrease their grocery costs.
Trudeau is fighting to stay in power and knows that this tariff will kick him out of office. That, my friends, is the Canadian reality today. Their country, like ours, is in free fall, and it is faster than ours.
