Its original owner, cereal heiress Marjorie Merriweather Post, bequeathed it to the federal government upon her death in 1973 and requested it be used as an official wintertime presidential retreat. Maintenance costs for the 58-bedroom, 33-bathroom estate proved to be too much, so President Jimmy Carter gave the estate back to the Post family in the early 1980s. Trump began negotiations to buy it shortly after. He closed the deal in 1985, purchasing it for a reported $8 million — $5 million for the property and $3 million for Post's furnishings. Not a bad deal considering it was built over four years in the early 1920s at an estimated cost of $7 million, which is about $90 million today, according to Smithsonian Magazine. |
It really IS quite astonishing. |
Impossible. He isn't President so he hasn't done anything. Thank President Biden |
Maybe he will kiss Trump behind a Mara largo curtain. |
How is Trump’s wall coming along? Did Mexico pay for it? 😆😆😆😆 |
Nope. And we’re still waiting on his “brand new beautiful health care” plan as well. |
| Felons are barred from entering Canada so if Trudeau and Trump want to meet in person, it has to be in the US. |
The park service declined because upkeep was too expensive. New, the taxpayer, will have to foot the bill for Trump. He screws the entire population every day. |

I was laughing out loud at some YouTube comments from Canadians about the tariffs, how Americans will shop in Canada, and how Canadian prices will go down. As someone who lived in Canada until a few months ago, that is so out of touch. Prices of everything in Canada are through the roof. They are ordering dairy farmers to throw away thousands of gallons of milk to keep the prices up, to help the farmers, says the Canadian gov.
They have a 14 percent tax on everything and think the surplus from not exporting to the U.S. will decrease their grocery costs. Trudeau is fighting to stay in power and knows that this tariff will kick him out of office. That, my friends, is the Canadian reality today. Their country, like ours, is in free fall, and it is faster than ours. |

Do you think we might invade Canada, like Russia did with Ukraine? |
We don't need another state on welfare. |
|
Trudeau won’t be winning his election.
Too little too late. |
Even Trudeau knows that. But there’s no winners in a tariff war, which is what Trump is proposing. Poilievre doesn’t want one either and Trudeau should hand over the economy in the best shape possible. |
| Trudeau is infinitely smarter than that lady in Mexico. |
