True. The crypto evangelists feel very recent though, no?

Relationships LOL.

Relationships is easily 90% WTF.

Politics is less crazy since the election, which sounds insane to say.

Relationships summed up is:

OP - "my husband is doing something that minorly annoys me"
Follow up posters - "divorce, divorce, he's probably cheating/divorce"

Or it's OP: It turns out my husband has lied to me about everything including his name and where he's from and after 17 years I've only just found out because his second wife called to tell me, what do I do?

Follow up posters: DON'T YOU KNOW WHAT VOWS ARE?

Oh you forgot: 7% I have a vegetarian coming for dinner, how do I sneak meat into their soup without them realizing?

Agree except the Meghan Markle fans are bat$hit crazy. Any royal family post goes off the rails early.

I think it’s one crazy person who abuses whoever is posting until we all just give up. I was shocked the King Charles post went on for more than a page before it happened.
I’d love to be able to discuss BRF or the craziness of MM but am denied the pleasure.

I don’t get into those threads before they are locked but I do think there as many people who think the Royals are screwed up as think MM is.

I guess if your point was they both are screwed up you might have one but there is definitely least one poster who thinks they walk on water and we should all be grateful for their existence.

Beauty and fashion is 100% “don’t worry about fashion, you should wear whatever you want”.

Only in dc.

The posts that get those responses are the ones that ask "is X in or out?" or "can I wear ...?" questions. Those are boring generic questions and they get the answers they deserve.
People who ask focused questions about specific fit or event needs get pretty good advice, I think.

I really like the Money and Finance sub, even though it can get really judgy, it’s still helpful.

I find the folks in Travel to be really helpful and well-meaning. This site is ideal for that bc it’s rich people stuff, and we’re all so well-traveled!

Food and Cooking can also be really useful. Same with Beauty and Fashion.

I actually can’t stand the stupid mommy wars threads - why do we still fall for that crap? Nothing is ever accomplished there. Relationship Discussion is a bit intense too. I used it a lot when I was in crappy relationships and am now happily married and never even look at those threads. That should tell you something.

Haven't noticed this. Is it because they don't belong there or what?

They usually start off as threads about poorer neighborhoods that devolve into crime porn. The current one about Silver Spring is trending that direction.

The forums where I have found the most helpful info and actually used the info

- Beauty and Fashion
- Pets
- Food, Cooking
- Specific posts on Off topic

The forums that have offered the most entertainment value

- any of the school forums
- Political discussions
- random long posts on any forum that go on so long one feels compelled to read them like the bobcat one

The nicest post I can remember was the one years ago from a woman who had cancer. People were universally kind on that one.

Funny, I came out to post the exact opposite. Money and finance is the most helpful forum for me. I took the advice on two occasions, and both times worked well for me.
