Relationships is easily 90% WTF. Politics is less crazy since the election, which sounds insane to say. |
But the 10% was critical to my navigation of the application process, and I'm grateful for it! |
Yeah MCPS is similar. There is probably 20% helpful advice, 20% people who just hate MCPS (or all public schools?) and then a bunch of not particularly helpful stuff in between. |
Not surprised— the bots got what they wanted and have moved on |

Lawn & Garden - 95% helpful, 5% some loon telling people bamboo and ivy are fine to plant.
Book Forum - 95% helpful, 1% someone complaining about audio books. 4% insults on chick lit and "trash books" |
I'd flip it and maybe divide annoying between repetitive and posing. |
I invite you to visit the Soccer forum. |
Is that you, Jeff? |
lol, same! |
+1000 That is honestly the most useful forum on DCUM |
I think you have to filter out all the comments from public school parents. Then it would be more useful. |
Why it it SO insane? I don’t get it. People will ask relatively straightforward questions and get bizarrely vitriolic responses that go on for pages. Meanwhile, I find most other soccer parents I’ve met in person to be awesome. It’s been a great community to be a part of. |
| I like vibe of the book forum a lot but views on books vary so wildly I personally don’t find it that helpful unless you find a post that lists like six books they like and you share that view on four of them. |
| The kids with special needs & disabilities forum was so helpful to me when we were in the process of diagnosing our son’s anxiety etc. |

College and University - 75 percent crazy or inaccurate. 25 percent helpful.
Food and Cooking - 80 percent helpful. Relationships - 50 percent helpful, 25 percent WTF. |
